I'd say so. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch actually.

Back on topic, this is a fight that needs to happen, Trout won a very, VERY close first fight and we just don't know how much of a confidence knock the Canelo fight was for Trout. These are two men on very different paths, the rematch really sells itself.

Having said that, I didn't see anything different in this version of Cotto compared to what I've been watching for more than a decade. He went to the body more than he had done recently but his last two fights were against guys who are very difficult to pin down and get your shots off. Cotto definitely seemed to be in better shape than last time, less flab, more tone but if Trout fights behind his jab and continues to work Cotto on the move, I reckon Trout gets another close decision, unless Cotto can land a big shot.
Martinez is a bigger fight and according to most reports is the next opponent. Trout rematch is not a big fight because Trout still isn't a big name.

it's plain as day that cotto had the wrong gameplan for trout when they fought

if roach is able to put together a more effective one then maybe he could beat trout

Cotto Trout was a close fight not sure what either one of you saw. With more activity and some body work Cotto could definitely edge out a close decision in a rematch.

More activity from Cotto? The same Cotto that for over 10 years now alway gas after the 7th round when his opponents are not bums? Ok mate whatever. He beats a low level competition now under Roach and now people thinks with a little of this and a little of that he can do this lol... Boxing isn't that simple. I would bet you anything that Trout beats him more easier if they fight again. Roach adds nothing significant to Cotto, Cotto was trained properly for his last fee losses, people need to stop the excuses about trainers, Cotto lost to trout and Mayweather because they were better than him on that night not because he didn't train properly or his trainer for those fights didn't give him the right gameplan.

That low level opponent Rodriguez fought Trout and the fight didn't make Trout look good at all. Cotto Trout was a 7-5 or 8-4 type fight that with a little more activity and different strategy could have been the same score going the other way. Why would you think Trout beats him "more easier" next time? First of all he didn't beat him easier the first time and second of all as history in boxing shows us in a rematch with proper changes a fighter who lost a close fight can win a rematch. I'm not saying Cotto beats Trout easily or destroys him but he can definitely win a close fight if they rematch.

People actually think that Cotto is a different fighter now

He was a different fighter under Pedro Diaz aswell.

As far as what Roach adds to Cotto I believe he is stressing that Cotto go back to the body and become a more offensive fighter. Those two things are what I think Cotto needed to get back to.

No way was that close, Trout won 11-1 easy.
