Pacquiao did call his bluff and Mayweather disappeared for months. All the boxing news sites were pointing out Mayweather has two months to accept. Mayweather disappeared for those two months and did no interviews or appearances and as soon as the deadline passed Mayweather appeared and said he did not know about the offer even though it was on all the tv stations and boxing sites. Where were you during the duck.. With Mayweather?

You mean after Arum said he wasn't going to negotiate through the media then put a big ass countdown clock on his website~ yea that is how you really make a fight.

That is how you look like you are trying to make a fight without doing anything, and trying to make someone else look bad for it.

That is something only suckers bought~ good to see that Arum got you hook line and sinker~

I'm talking about the first negotiations in late 2009 where Pacquaio walked away from the table because he refused to take the extra drug tests and signed to fight Clottey instead.

He should have called his bluff that time, and see if Mayweather came up with a new "roadblock". Instead of walking away.

It wasn't until a good year to 2 years later until he finally accepted the drug testing.

Makes you wonder why he didn't just do that originally and save a hell of a lot of time.

Does it count as a duck if Mayweather refuses to fight a fighter and after the fighter loses want to fight him because that is what Mayweather has done alot.

What are some examples of this happening?

They might have said that but did they really try to make anything happen after they said that, it all looks like face saving and spin to me.

It all came down to money Floyd needed bread after he came back IRS trouble and all he made a good amount for the JMM fight but he wanted a big paycheck so he was willing to deal but once they walked away and Floyd fought Mosley thus banking big on that fight he no longer needed to deal. Thus since he felt like they played him in that first negotiation laying all that **** at his feet Floyd was playing hardball from there on out.

So while you can blame both side, Manny's team clearly squandered their best chance to make Floyd deal.

I would say both Mosley and Manny deserve equal credit, with a good ammount of credit going to those before that put a lot of wear on Margarito's tires. Cotto finally finished the job though but I think he did less that those 3 in terms of ending Margarito's career (if strictly talking the last fight if you are talking both then Cotto probably deserves equal credit with Mosley and Manny).

If you want a fight, you will try to find reason to make that fight happen, if you don't want it, you will find reasons for it not to happen.

Floyd was forever making up excuses why this fight or than fight could not happen.

The truth is, the only thing that stopped these fights were Floyd.
