Somebody needs to make a video of that, 'cause I certainly didn't see many during the fight. I'd love to see the proof. I saw one kidney punch early on, where Garcia was lunging towards Matthysse and Lucas caught him in the back. I'd be quite surprised if someone can demonstrate even a half-dozen rabbit punches by Matthysse. And even then, some would've been delivered while Danny was attempting to duck. Lucas wasn't fouling nearly as flagrantly as Garcia was. Not even close.

I don't think it was part of his strategy, he wanted to focus on the body (which is smart if you want to slow down the aggressor) but his punches are so wide that they inadvertently landed below the belt. It's just poor form.

Damn that's a lot of low blows, I blame Lucas's corner though, they should have told him to retaliate and start throwing bombs downstairs too.

If the ref isn't doing anything about it you have to take matters into your own hands.

I love how this thread has exactly proved my point. Pages upon pages of people who are b*tching about people seeing low blows and denying they even happened and getting offended by the idea that a guy Bernard freaking Hopkins helped prepare for this fight might have fought rough on purpose.

Yeah, there were a lot of low blows, and I thought quite a few were at very convenient times.

However, while it was Danny throwing them, it's still up to the ref to enforce the rules. If he doesn't do anything, Danny will keep throwing them because it gets him an easier win. Guys do what they can get away with, and if that involves some conveniently thrown low blows, they will keep doing it until the ref enforces the rules of the fight. That's what he's there for.

It's pretty clear though that Garcia was throwing some intentional shots and was going to keep doing it as long as he could get away with it. Anyone thinking that that last round low blow was an accident is ****ing daft. That was as intentional a low blow as I've ever seen. Up there with Hattons against Tszyu, Titos against Vargas.

Anyway, I'm not sure it made that much difference. They are very taxing though and he was hit with some pretty nasty ones. Whether it would have changed the outcome doesn't matter now as he also had the eye problem too. Still, it was a clear **** up by the ref and it really should have been payed a lot more attention. It wasn't on the level of Mares obviously, but it certainly helped swing the fight his way at some important times and that stuff shouldn't happen.

Garcia did what he had to do to win, plain and simple. Weeks wasn't warning him or taking points, so he kept doing it.

Pretty much everyone riding for Garcia are the same ones who roasted Mares. They are also the same ones who don't care to see a rematch but wanted Abner to fight Agbeko again.

Wow, fucking 22 and only got deducted 1 point. That's ridiculous. Lucas does have his glove behind Danny's head on some, but not most of them. Garcia was throwing to Lucas' legs on purpose.
