I have little doubt the low-blows were part of Garcia's game-plan. It turned out to be a good strategy. Weeks did nothing until the final round, when Danny literally landed a bomb on Matthysse's nuts. But I also blame Lucas for not returning the favor every time Garcia went low. I would have.

I'm not saying Matthysse didn't foul. What I'm saying is that Lucas's fouls were nothing you don't see outside the normal course of a fight. Garcia, on the other hand, was fouling at an unusually high and unacceptable rate. The video evidence is right there. Are you going to deny it? Where's the video evidence of Matthysse fouling excessively?

Lucas did not fight dirty. Danny did. However, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't fault Garcia. He did what was required to win. It was the ref's job to see to it that the fight was clean, and Matthysse's responsibility to give it right back.

How's that losing credibility? Happens often enough. When a professional fighter, who has no previous track record for low-blows, lands twenty two in a championship fight, it's quite reasonable to believe he was looking to intentionally foul. Take a another look at the massive low-blow in the twelfth. Tell me Matthysse was holding Garcia's head down.
