What's the difference between how rigondeaux fought donaire and how mayweather fought

But the biggest difference is popularity. The media can't criticize Floyd because they don't want to get blackballed because of the revenue he brings in.
Rigo is an easy target to pick on because he's not in the spotlight and you won't get any backlash.
Rigo just needs more fights so we can see him do more. He was fighting a fast, lightning quick counter puncher who was WITHOUT QUESTION one of the 4 best fighters in the world at the time p4p. You have no room for error against Nonito Donaire or its lights out for you. Listen to the pre-fight analysis. Roy Jones said his key to victory was to "pot shot Donaire" and throughout the fight talked about how his best way to win was to land cleanly and get out of harms way because something nasty was coming in return.
He will let his hands go if you get him in the right with a guy that likes to open up. If he was in the ring with a flat footed slower fighter like Guerrero we might see him let his hands go and be more offensive. We just don't know yet because he has 12 fights and is still making the transition from an amateur to a pro.Comment

Neither were great fights, but Floyd was actually the aggressor through out most of the fight while Rigo mostly just waited around to counter. Compubox said Floyd threw like 130 more punches than Rigo, but it's likely even more than that because a lot of Rigo's range finders were counted.Comment

Once Rigo figures out what can land consistantly he adds punches to that and uses combinations. Floyd sticks to using one punch just in case someone gets brave enough (smart enough) to punch with him. Rigo is more accurate and his punches have more effect than Floyds. Floyds punches come out of a defensive posture when Rigo's come from when he attacks.
If Rigo was a natural WW Floyd would avoid him like the plaque! Ray.Comment

Just because Floyd is "standing in the pocket" does not mean he's going "toe-to-toe". The term, toe-to-toe is reserved for what Warriors do. Floyd pot shots & fights like a cat; he does not go toe-to-toe.Comment
