No it doesn't have to be a slug feat to be exciting, but I'll call a boring fight when I see one, whether I like the fighters or not. So what if it was "high skilled" or not, it was still boring. Tiger woods may be highly skilled but I would never call him "exciting" if I watch him golf.

Great post btw, aesthetically speaking there is not much of a difference between what Floyd and Rigo do inside the ring, although Floyd D*ck Riders would rather you think their styles are night and day. The thing is that Floyd is the best self salesman in sports today and has sold what may seem like a boring boxing style to casual boxing fans into a proverbial puzzle or rubix cube; "Who will be the 45th victim to fail at cracking the Mayweather puzzle? With this tactic, he has taken a style that many perceive as boring and made people appreciate the skill and art of the sweet science. Hit and don't get hit. Even with a similar style and skill, Rigo is a Cuban who only speaks Spanish and cannot sell himself outside the ring to the American public the same way Mayweather or Broner can. Unfortunately that's the nature of the business.

Mayweather threw more punches and more combinations despite being at a much higher weight class. That makes it less "boring"

This, Rigo shut out the best guy in the lower weight classes and he is getting black listed by Arum and HBO because he was supposed to / expected to lose. Its complete bull****.

Lol just because you come forward with a high guard doesn't mean your doing anything. I don't care about compubox stats rigondeaux was hurting donaire Floyd wasn't hurting Canelo.

That there, threw more ... landed more. Also Mayweather didn't even look in trouble for half a sec.

Add in Canelo vs Donaire stats and you have your answer..... Mayweather was offensive and at times initiated and stood with Canelo.....Rigo did neither of those things except for a few seconds maybe.

Rigondeaux stuck the jab in Donaire's face, pawed with it until Donaire took the bait, then threw the straight left hand down the middle. Entirely different approaches.

Just noticed I'm repeating what you said, I tend to do that...don't know why
Rigo's my boy, but Mayweather is a more exciting fighter. I don't think there's much debating that. Floyd stands in the pocket, makes you miss and pay. He initiates more than Guille. Maybe Rigo will open up more as his pro career advances. For the moment, I'm content to watch "El Chacal's" formidable skills on display.

I don't know Cuba. I was more entertained by rigo-donaire than may-Canelo or Guerrero.

Pac Lost to Morales, he still bounced back and became one of the biggest attractions. I hardly think that a singe loss matters, eventhough Rigo slapped him about

Then, can you name a display of pure boxing you found exciting? I found both the last Mayweather and Rigondeaux fights entertaining. They obviously weren't Leonard-Hearns I or anything, but they were pretty good. They certainly didn't put me to sleep.

Sorry man i love a great technical performance..why??because only a few can do it..ANYONE can land 1 shot and knock someone out..only a few can outbox and embarrasse elite fighters in the ring
