    They were boring fights

The whole excitement of those fights came from the anticipation of the guy getting outboxed possibly ending the fight with 1 punch, not from the action Inside the ring.

Wrong. Floyd and Rigo didn't do the same thing. Rigo waited until Donaire threw something to create some type of offense. Because Donaire barely threw anything, it was a boring fight.

Floyd, on the other hand, fought off his jab and would box Canelo into corners with 1-2s. He would at times instigate the offense when Canelo wasn't throwing.

Floyd showed another dimension to his offense while Rigo just countered all night.

And I'm saying this as someone who dislikes Mayweather.

Nope, that was a very good fight, literally saved the card from being a massive bore. Everyone should learn from those 2 guys

Mayweather can actually stand in the pocket, people are claiming Floyd is boring.. okay go watch the fight again and look..

Canelo was scared, Floyd was standing toe-to-toe for much of the fight.

Do you care about boxing matches, where highly polished skills are on display, or does every fight have to be a brutal slugfest culminating in a KO?

              Rigo -
              129 / 396 Total 33 %
              56 / 220 Jab 25 %
              73 / 176 Power 41 %

              Mayweather -
              232 / 505 Total 46 %
              139 / 330 Jab 42 %
              93 / 175 Power 53 %

That there, threw more ... landed more. Also Mayweather didn't even look in trouble for half a sec.

Add in Canelo vs Donaire stats and you have your answer..... Mayweather was offensive and at times initiated and stood with Canelo.....Rigo did neither of those things except for a few seconds maybe.

Sometimes I don't even know if people realize what they're watching. Floyd gave Canelo all the opportunities in the world, he simply made him miss, rolled and countered whilst working off of the jab. Rigondeaux stuck the jab in Donaire's face, pawed with it until Donaire took the bait, then threw the straight left hand down the middle. Entirely different approaches.

Just noticed I'm repeating what you said, I tend to do that...don't know why

Also notice Floyd was in his 5th weight class vs a super star with a huge fan base....

Rigondeaux looked more fluid and impressive against Donaire than Floyd did with Guerrero but Floyd looked a bit more sharp and fluid against Canelo than Rigondeaux did against Donaire. Does that make sense?

They cant see this , at times Floyd is walking him down ,

If you want slug out action fights go to the 6 to 10 round prelim fights , when fighters like Floyd and Rigo box its boxing at its purist and these types of fighters are very rare , if you understand boxing then you appreciate the diamonds they are , but seeing that most of the fans are casual fans that don't understand boxing , its boring to them .

As for the topic , Rigo is a brilliant boxer with unreal skills , the difference in the 2 fights is Rigo didn't give a stone in weight away .
