What would wins against Eric Lucas, Markus Beyer, Anthony Mundine, Antwun Echols, Mikkel Kessler or Danny Green prove ??? Everybody knows that those names were not close to Calzaghe's class and he would of got no credit for beating them, they are'nt any better than most of the guys Calzaghe has beat anyway. Although Kessler is improving. Beyer, you cant be serious he's terrible. Joe would of got far more respect for beating Roy Jones or Hopkins than going to GErmany and fighting Beyer for an abc belt. Agreed ???

He avoided a long list of credible top ten oppostion in place of WBO "top ten opposition".

Wins over those fighters would have VASTLY improved his resume as it exsists at present.

The point is, he has a weak resume, and according to fans like you, it's everyone that's avoided him.

I don't buy it for a second. He's a Frank Warren fighter who's been sheltered in his own back yard his entire career feeding off stiffs, washed up fighters, and fringe contenders.

The fact he was mentioned in this same sentence as Roy Jones at several points in this tread is an insult and a joke.

I think the reason americans hate Joe so much is probably jealousy, i cant think of anything else. Its mind boggling

Maybe because he's accomplished next to nothing, yet is shoved down everyone's throats and glorified by nut huggers like you?

          Just a thought.

Your boy Eubank even admits that he wudnt beat Roy, here are exact quotes coming straight from Eubanks mouth

"I dont think i could of beaten Roy Jones unless i got my jab working from the opening bell as good as its ever worked, which is unlikely. He was just too fast, too fit, too fresh"

            another one
"I doubt i could of beaten Roy Jones, unless he stood in front of me"

now this one is from Eubanks book
"People always ask me why i never fought Roy Jones. the reason is simple, Roy Jones was never my mandatory contender. if he had been my mandatory i would of fought him, i am a professional. I can say this about a Roy Jones fight: Roy Jones would of come out of the fight in bad shape, but i would of come out worse off!"
I don't care what Eubank says.

I know that that guy had the tools to make Roy Jones look ******, he had the most effective stiff jab I've ever seen and it would take Jones Jr's reflexes out of the equation.

Notice how TOS and Brewster didn't fear Wlad and both knocked him on his ass? Imagine if McCline knew Wlad had no chin back in 2002. Easy KO victory for Big Time. That's why I could never quit in a fight until I had clocked my opponent with some good shots. If his chin is untested, ****ing rush him and test it even if it means taking his shots in the process! Go wild and make sure you land a meaningful punch on that ****er before you crawl into your shell and hide for 12 rounds. Could payoff in a KO victory.
if they didnt worry about his speed they would be ko'd. Thats like saying if people weren't worried about tysons or foremans power would the fight be different.

Toney? Yes. Hopkins? WTF. Take away the blown-up little guys and Hopkins' resume is much worse than Calzaghe's.

Toney was weighing 222lbs just six weeks before the Jones Jr fight, he had to make 168. And, Jones Jr just ran. A washed-up Michael Nunn actually stood right in front of Toney and just picked him apart, he looked better against Toney than Jones Jr did. Jones Jr ran.

Whitaker and Chavez are the best of the last 15 years, followed by Oscar, Trinidad, then Jones Jr, Holyfield, and then Toney.

Shane Mosley was the best fighter in the world about five years ago, certainly not Jones Jr. In my eyes Jones Jr was never the best in the world.

Well, I definitely had Roy Jones as the best fighter in the world until Tarver stopped him (who I predicted would beat Jones in the first fight), but everyone saw what happened when Tarver, in the 2nd fight, had no fear of Jones' blazing handspeed. He went in there and knocked him the **** out. You can clearly tell Toney is afraid of Jones' handspeed the entire fight. Even Ruiz was afraid of Jones when he saw Roy was just too fast. What I'm saying is, I would toss my style aside if I was fighting Jones and pull a Sam Soliman, throwing punches from all angles and swarming Jones until I at least laid a few on him no matter what I got in return. Have you ever seen a Jones fight between 1998 and 2003 where the commentators didn't talk about how the opponent was fearful of letting his hands go because Roy was so fast? I haven't. Roy HATES pressure as we saw in many rounds of the fight against Hopkins, where Bernard just pinned him on the ropes and wailed away on him without fear of being hit back. Problem is, it was too late by then and let's be honest...Hopkins, a natural middleweight, had no chance of KOing Jones, who belonged at Light Heavyweight. Glen Johnson pressured Jones the entire fight. Manny Steward called it "amateurish", yet Johnson knocked Roy the **** out after winning every single round. Go ahead and say Roy is out of his prime or whatever you wanna call it and I'll just go ahead and claim all my favorites are out of their prime when they lose.

By the way, if Corrales loses to Castillo it's because he's out of his prime. But if he wins, he's back in his prime again, ok?
