Wow. "Gatekeeper" seems rather harsh. lol But I get what you're saying. It could be that Lucas just can't get over the hump. There are guys like that.

I dont disagree with that... but saying that if Matthysse's eye was open he would have got hit more is wrong.

Nah, man let's not disrespect the man like that. He's still a great warrior and will be more dangerous once he comes back if you ask me. He's made America his home, his last couple of fights have been here so he's definitely world class. He'll continue to win more significant fights and is definitely not a gatekeeper.

If given enough opportunities someone will come around and pick up a strap that plays to his strengths and Lucas will get them out of there... He's 30 though and his best chance is at 40 in my opinion so he's going to have to hold on for a while ... Danny moving up and vacating a few belts makes it all the more likely.. We shall see

My point is that it could had gone either way. He would had countered Lucas more if he opened up some more or Garcia would had been laid out on the canvass.

Just to say that the eye is what made Lucas lose the fight is not correct to me because Danny's punches were the ones that closed it and Lucas had to adjust himself a bit. Anyway it is a world of what ifs and if there is a rematch I'll be watching and wouldn't be suprised that if it goes one way or another.

I'm not like other posters that are saying that Danny dominated Lucas because it didn't go that way
