Comments Thread For: Lucas Matthysse: Big Things Will Still Come For Me

You are spot on, I did not give Danny a chance and I am happy that he proved me wrong with a gutsy performance. I am now looking forward to his next fight. As for the other comment, just harmless baitingYeah, but he wasn't supposed to win that way, let alone win. Danny was supposed to be ko'd by the Machine, and the Machine wound up getting his ass beat, his face swelled, his body hurt, and embarrassed as the favorite. Nobody gave Danny a chance...not even you, and you post this, lmao???
but there is argument for a rematch due to how close it was.
A lot of focus has been placed on the "but it was the eye injury" scenario, but for me the most interesting observation was that Danny couldn't put away a half blind opponent with 6 rounds to do it!
It just feels like unfinished business, which is theme I am picking up on quite a few posts as we were robbed of a great fight and had to settle for a good fight, due to the misfortune of one fighter and the good fortune of another.
Regardless of who you liked going into this, both men have shown respect and class, which can only be a good thing for boxing.
So........let's do it again!Comment

Lucas can run things at 140 when Swift vacates the throne and moves up to 147 aka "Floyd's World"......Broner should fight Lucas after he beats Chino....Lucas vs Broner is more intriguing than Maidana vs Broner imoArgentinean puncher Lucas Matthysse (34-3, 32KOs) is back home and relaxing with his family after suffering a twelve round decision loss to WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs) last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Matthysse would like to get a second crack at Garcia. If that doesn't happen, Matthysse is confident that other big fights and opportunities will come his way.

Lucas is far from a bum and I don't see why he shouldn't be the 140 king once Swift moves up....unless Swift took too much outta him and ruined himComment

I would agree that Garcia's strategy was dominant, but that's not the same as saying he dominated. The fight was close. By definition, that's not "dominating." Not to take anything away from Danny; he did everything he had to do to bring home the victory. A job well done.Comment

Nice rant but it has pretty much nothing to do with what I was saying. What more do you need to hear? It's like every time you post, the fight is getting closer and closer. Danny beat Matthysse's ass. Whether fans think the fight was a close win or not, Danny beat his ass. There isn't a thing that you can say that softens the blow.
You clowns all ****ted all over Danny, and in the end, the boxing Gods looked out for Danny and gave you Matthysse fans a lesson in humility. Next time don't put so much stock in a dude who only has one game plan.
Danny was starting to catch up to Matthysse by round 6 because Matthysse wasted all of his power trying to hurt Danny, and like all punchers, they slow down or keep their hands low, and it only takes one shot/one lapse in defense to do what Danny did, and Danny swelled his eye up...and beat his ass.
You can try to counter this post, but you aren't changing my mind or any of Danny's fans minds. Your guy lost, so take it like a man and move on.Comment

That's what I wanted to say in the first place: "Garcia's strategy was dominant"... If I liked or not, it doesn't matter.I would agree that Garcia's strategy was dominant, but that's not the same as saying he dominated. The fight was close. By definition, that's not "dominating." Not to take anything away from Danny; he did everything he had to do to bring home the victory. A job well done.Comment

Pathetic attempt to not give Garcia his props and try to say a rematch is warranted. Matthysse got his ass beat and humbled more than he already is. Stop reaching. Matthysse is tough and that's why he didn't get KO'd but he got his ass K'dD. This was the guy mostly EVERYONE said would annihilate Danny Garcia. First time in his career dude has been down on the floor and Danny did it. Stop trying to downplay his victory. Was no controversy behind that fight or decision. Next time Matthysse fans need to do some analyzing seriously instead of getting all hype about a big puncher because like I always said. A counter puncher always has a chance to win against a puncher. You are spot on, I did not give Danny a chance and I am happy that he proved me wrong with a gutsy performance.
