Throw Floyd in the Leonard Hern era he would have lost a few times, but he would have also won because he would probably have fought them twice

Either way he would have been elite and a top contender in that era

Come on, people. Alvarez may go on to make this fight mean more, but to say he's unbeatable off it is ridiculous.

There are fighters in his era that could have potentially beaten him or at least given him a run for his money.

Mayweather is one of the best fighters I've ever seen no doubt but he looks spectacular against a certain kind of opponent - slow and flatfooted like Canelo. His 15lb weight advantage didn't matter cos he didn't use it and ******ly tried to box with Floyd.

Was this "unbeatable" talk so prevalent after a well past his prime Miguel Cotto jabbed him till he bled last year?

          That's more than laughable

There's nobody out there from 140-154 that will even win more than 2 rounds against Floyd. Whether you make that into a testament to Floyd's greatness or you just look at it like a pathetic era (like I do) is totally up to you. However, great champions look to challenge themselves when no challenges present themselves.

Floyd could totally win a title at 160 and it'd be historic and memorable, but he doesn't seem interested in challenging himself in that way. I guess I can't blame him considering he's still making boatloads of money fighting no-hopers, but it'll be interesting to see where he goes from here because I can't se ehim cracking 1 million PPV buys with anybody from 140-154 right now.

Showtime look like total ****s right now for giving him so much money when there was nobody compelling for him to fight apart from Alvarez, which they just cashed out on.
The smart move IMO would be to take a monetary loss on Mayweather vs Garcia (a fight that would do around 1 million buys).....allow Sergio to get a nice win around the same time, and setup Mayweather vs Martinez for the middleweight title. That would be a fight that would do close to 2 million IMO.

tommy hearns, ray leonard, and ray robinson all knock mayweather out.

especailly tommy hearns. that right hand would land high on the head from very far away, and the jabs would be landing to the face without any danger of being countered. the only way to beat hearns at WW was to hurt him.

                Just on beating him,
at welter Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran.

At lightweight, Aaron Pryor, maybe Alexis Arguello, Henry Armstrong and Duran. That's not limiting it either.

Losses (even KO losses) don't diminish a fighter's legacy. That's idiotic NSB fanboy logic.

Was Roy Jones's career any less impressive after being KO'd by Tarver and Johnson?

Was Ali's career any less impressive after being humiliated by Holmes?

Was Roberto Duran looked upon as a lesser fighter after losing 3 of his final 5 fights?

                  No, no, and no.

Pacquiao's greatness is no longer in question with anybody other than Floyd f*gs who try to diminish his acccomplishments in some lame attempt to build Floyd's (less impressive ones) up.

                  They're BOTH ATGs.

Every time Floyd fights, no matter how weak the opponent, you get a buttload of these threads popping up from Floyd fellators desperate to big-up their boy

                      Isn't Martinez an HBO fighter?

Furthermore, that fight should've been made a while back. Now Sergio is physically falling apart and most people think he lost his last fight against a no-hoper. I can't see many people buying into that at all.
