kostya was old and half retired, but he was the lineal champ. at best mathysse was the uncrowned king at 140. i say it's fairly close.

He was in the top 3 Pound for Pound fighters in the world. And he was younger than Mayweather, Marquez and Martinez are now.

He had injury problems but he came back and blew out Sharmba Mitchell in 3 rounds before he faced Hatton. Mitchell was one of the top fighters at 140 at the time and someone who gave him a little trouble in their first fight.

Hatton was a huge underdog in the fight. I'm not talking Garcia-Matthysse odds either.

I'm not even knocking Garcia. I've started to really admire Danny but to say a win over Matthysse ranks with a win over Kostya Tszyu is just ******ity.

Matthysse barely beat a 2010 version of Zab which tells its own story.

This was my first thought too.

Hatton has more wins and more better wins. Khan and Matthysse are good wins, but are they better wins than Tszuy, Malignaggi, Castillo, Urango etc? No.

So he's still got some time to go, but it's possible.
