Yeah, after eating several right hands and hooks Shane wanted to have a friendly conversation about how that didn't happened during sparring.

Floyd hit the pause button on his face.

I agree that Canelo has a chance in this fight but no more than any of Floyd's other recent opponents.

The guy went 12 rounds with Matthew Hatton ffs, how on earth do those kinds of performances qualify him to be ready to beat the very best in the sport today? Yes he beat Trout, but there is no way Trout is elite and the scorecards were ludicrous for that fight. I had it much MUCH closer than the judges.

He maybe roughs Floyd up early in the fight but won't be able to sustain the pressure and if he doesn't do real damage in those early rounds he is gonna end up gettin timed all night with the straight right.

      UD for Floyd IMO

The problem with Canelo is that he's not good at hiding when he's tired lol. His skin tone makes him look more tired than he really is, the red face and all.

I honestly don't remember Canelo being tired in any of his fights other than against trout. Canelo was finally fighting someone his size and that may have contributed to him being tired because his punches weren't having the same affects that it would of had on a smaller opponent. Had Trout been a smaller opponent, Trout may of been knocked down several times and lost via ko in the early rounds. With that, I'm saying that stamina may not be the issue that many think (including me) because he is young, he should of learned from the last fight and Floyd is smaller than Trout. This makes the fight closer than what people think. I still got my boy Floyd, but there is some concern that the O will go.

He also began walking him down as Canelo began to gas. But I think even you can admit that Canelo's best chances in the fight will come from getting Floyd on the ropes. Canelo has boxing ability and decent hand speed but his feet are terrible for center ring action with a guy like Floyd coming off a performance like the Robert fight. All training camp the mans been letting his feet do the work for him, not to mention he's throwing the most combinations I've ever seen him throw since moving up to 147. I think a lot of people are so used to Floyd being Floyd that they don't even consider what new wrinkles he'll bring to the ring. Not accusing you, but Floyd is also a student of the game that learns new things every training day. Anything can happen in that ring, but this camp, Floyd looks unbeatable and the catchweight won't do Canelo any favors.
A draw? I completely and utterly disagree. I say those rounds you scored for trout look at them like this...Canelo stepped off the gas when they announced he already had a 7 point lead. What did he switch his gear to do? He showed to be illusive, he toyed with Trout. Hell I lost money on that fight. I swore up and down Trout would win and lost BIGGGG. The fact is if you sit back and watch exactly what Alvarez did it's impressive, I am not one to not give a man props even when he costs me money. Any other fighter folks would say "Oh well he was up big on the scorecards and didn't want to put himself in danger" but for this kid it folks act like he was too tired to even pick up his hands. Just look at the shots he landed in those rounds people are saying he was gassed. They were precise punches that put Trout at bay, to some extent I on reflection think he was maybe baiting Trout into making a mistake that leads to a K.O. Also had those scorecards not been announced in the way they were mid fight I don't think he steps off the gas. My one complaint with Canelo is the same you pointed out..his footwork. Honestly it seems he's too committed to other things to focus on it..I was really hoping to see him spend two months with Mosley so Shane could bring the young lion up on his footwork..I also think Canelo has hit the glass ceiling with his current trainers. As much as I find Chepo a likable guy I think Canelo needs someone to take him a step further up on his abilities with new motion regiments but without taking away from the strengths he already has as an athlete. I would love to see an upset tomorrow..not because I want to see Mayweather lose but because I think it would shake up boxing and bring us old heads something new to talk about. Anyway i've said on here...there is too much money involved..I've felt a robbery or a controversy of some sort is going to rear it's head and we'll be seeing a rematch in May of next year.

We could practically ask that first question about many hall of famers who went the distance with guys they shouldn't have gone the distance with, hell we can ask that question about hand fulls of currently active fighters. Ortiz beat Berto, Guerrero beat Berto...their most notable wins...they got to fight Floyd.

pathetic excuses??? pathetic excuses for what? i dont see what ur getting at. all i did is make my prediction on why I see mayweather winning, i'm not a hater or a nut hugger of any boxer by any means, all i do is call it how i see it

ur right, mayweather can be beat, but no one has figured it out yet, some have come close, but canelo has no better chance at winning than say a ricky hatton, or a gatti, or any other fighter that floyd has fought.

mayweather has even said it himself that he makes sure that he has all the advantages or he has eluded to that its no secret to anyone who follows boxing

as far as marquez, lol, marquez was not a cherry pick he has always been a dangerous fighter against manny and i even had marquez winning that fight, yea team pac had options and they went with marquez, but its not like manny was suppose to run over him like hes nothing!

Excellent post.......... I had Tout winning 7-5 at best case for Canelo, but really felt like it easily could have been 8-4 for Trout. No "Texas Scoring" means no Whitaker-Chavez Draw BS.

I like the kid's confidence. So I'll predict Floyd at 9-3 instead of 10-2...only real question to me is whether he can land a 'that other Cotto' shot on him and drop him a time or two........

Nice fighter's list too.........both of them

if punching when the opponent have his hands down while the ref is watching somewhere, using elbows and pushing down the neck of an opponent is not dirty, then what do you like to call that kid?
