If your hopes tomorrow are based on the Trout fight, good luck.

Canelo knocked Trout down in the 7th round, but Trout was not seriously hurt. What's more telling is the fact that Canelo was so tired by the middle of the fight that he made little effort to finish Trout off and Trout actually won the rest of that round.

I won't argue with Canelo's victory over Trout, but anybody with a functioning pair of eyes knows that Canelo did not win that fight by 118-109 and 116-111 margins.

Canelo is a strong puncher, and every fighter who steps into the ring has the opportunity to land a big punch, but I don't know how so many people have developed this notion that Canelo is Mexico's Lucas Matthysse. He's not.

Realistically, to hurt Floyd, Canelo is going to have to get to his body, and more than once. And for the first time in his career perhaps, he's going to have to think about the return fire. Floyd may not be a knockout artist, but there's a reason his most opponents are a lot less aggressive than they say they'll be. Decent pop combined with killer speed makes for very effective if not devastating punches.
Good post. Hard to disagree, although Canelo does boast a pretty high KO percentage.

I think Mayweather gets away with a lot of stuff in the ring, and never gets called for it.

He is like Micheal Jordan, he can carry the ball, travel and if he gets touched gets a foul called.

Mayweather clinches way too much, elevates the elbow in a dangerous way and pushes the head down when a fighter gets inside.

I don't think things will change with that though, so Canelo is going to have to overcome those things like everyone else has tried to.
It's one thing to strike your opponent with elbows, it's another to use it as a means of defense, intimidation, all to make your opponent second guess themselves, that isn't illegal. Floyd doesn't clinch way too much, the man can fight in the pocket. In the end it's all about being the ring general.

The issue here is that while Floyd does tend to bend the rules, he doesn't do it on a consistent basis. If he ain't pushing off with the forearm, he'll clinch occasionally, push his opponents head down at close quarters, so it's hard to penalize him.

LMAO...I don't have hope for shhh beyond a good fight. That's the difference between me and the casuals around here who act like they know boxing in and out because they jock ride Floyd and he's undefeated. Nothing is guaranteed..it's boxing. Now since you avoided several parts of my post most importantly the part where I have given both men praise...yes both men!! Why is every single Floyd fan counting on this kid getting gassed...if ya'll are counting on that and it doesn't happen..what then? I laugh seeing all the predictions on here..if Floyd breaks his hand, if Canelo hurts his ankle...anything can happen if not we wouldn't bother to watch. You guys spend so much time bashing Floyd's opponents that when Floyd does win a fight ya'll turn around complaining the man doesn't get his props. I wonder why that is..well the fact is ya'll do more damage to that man's achievements than you care to realize..but again it's whatever. Too much logic being dropped I guess. I'll honestly say I don't know who will win..I think a fix is in for this fight..but i've been saying that here for two weeks now. This shh has trilogy written all over it..mark my words on that right there..if it doesn't turn out to be fixed cool I was wrong.

Sure he does. But look at the names of some of the guys he knocked out:
            • Daniel Martinez
            • Javier Martinez
            • Ivan Illescas
            • Sean Holley
            • Axel Rodrigo Solis
            • Abraham Gonzalez
            • Pablo Alvarado
            • Raul Pinzon
            • Michel Rosales
            • Jeferson Luis Goncalo
            • Marat Khuzeev

I don't know any of these guys, and I've been a boxing fan for half my life.

I think Canelo is a good fighter based on what I've seen of him in the ring, but when you get right down to it, there's nothing in his record to suggest that he's anywhere near as good as he's been made out to be in the promotions for this fight.

I hope that this fight lives up to the hype, and any time you have a super middleweight/light heavyweight fighting at 154 pounds, there's potential for excitement. But come Sunday morning, I won't be at all surprised if the most impressive thing about this fight proves to be the marketing.

before the trout fight, nobody said Canelo gassed. Not many had even seen a canelo fight. But since he's patient and doesn't swing like a madman giong for the ko, "he gasses".

Shane is talking about a cheap shot? He shouldn't have been talking in the ring. He got what he deserved. He crashed my man's post fight interview in the ring and said all that he needed to say then. When the bell rang on their fight, it wasn't time to talk. They weren't there to throw words. They were there to throw punches. Protect yourself at all times. Ready or not, here comes that right hand. Lol You got socked!

Actually Floyd does it a lot and your not supposed to elevate the elbow like that because it can cause cuts and many opponents of his have complained.

Again, at the end of the day, they will let Floyd do what he does and won't warn him for it because he's the champ.

I just think he does clinch too much, does push your head down, and uses his forearm as a weapon. Believe me, that **** gets so frustrating when you are boxing as I have had fighters do that to me.

Anyway, Canelo is going to have to deal with it like everyone else.

                      cheap shot??

what cheap shot?? mayweather was in his zone he told mosley shut up and fight like 3 times mayeather kept saying ok ok urging mosley to fight..

how do we know mosley was not trying to slow the momentum down by insisting mayweather stop and shake hands 3 of 4 times!! its like mosley was trying to call a time out or something..to calm mayweather or change his momentum or thought process in the ring!!!

their aint no time outs in boxing mosley mayweather kept saying fight and gave you plenty of chances!!!
