Puerto Rico was too far apparently when both were at WW. Prime Cotto can beat Prime Floyd.

Cotto suddenly developed AIDS and actually had to use a walking stick when he fought Margarito...

Oh by the way he wasn't long past his 30th birthday when he fought Floyd at 154.

Mayweather schools him in every single weight.

Very lame excuse, yes. But Cotto, did he or did he not avoid the Floyd fight at 140? yes or no

Cotto by knockout is the only way he could of beat Floyd. Back then Cotto had more power but for some reason it seems like he lost his punching power. He would stand a better chance back then of knocking Floyd out, there is no way he could win by decision. Is there currently any fighter thats capable of decisioning Floyd?

I love how the Cotto fans and Floyd haters want to ignore the fact that Cotto purposely avoided Floyd at 140, before Floyd ever came out with that weak a s s "He lives too far" BS. Lol, whatever helps you sleep I guess. I'd rather live with the facts.

Kellerman, Rafael & Fischer scored it 116-112 Mayweather

But having just rewatched the fight, and as a Cotto fan, I think this fight showed how much he's deteriorated. He boxed very well in some rounds, and there's an argument for him to get the nod for 4, or maybe 5 rounds. But Mayweather's clean punching was nice.

"You're a helluva champion. You're the toughest guy I ever fought." Floyd Mayweather Jr. to Cotto following the bout.

So who wins? MAYWEATHER-COTTO circa 2007-2008 at 147lbs?

I think a prime Cotto, circa 2007-2008 would've been able to make a fight against Floyd go into draw or split decision territory.

I'd take a prime Cotto over Mayweather - fan of both.
Well if an out of prime Mayweather defeated an out of Prime Cotto fairly easily then I would assume the results would be the same had they fought in their prime.

Also a "prime" Cotto was at which weight? I specifically remember Cotto and Arum avoiding a Mayweather when they were champions at 140lbs.

If Prime Cotto was at 147lbs then look at the fact that Branco, Urkal & Malignaggi all lasted 11 rounds vs Cotto. Cotto clearly won those fights but I doubt any of those guys would have lasted 6 rounds against the Mayweather of 2007/2008.
