lol Read my mind. I wonder what Top Rank will do when Rigo's contract is up in two fights. Of course, it's up to Guille whether he wants to stick around or not; but I wonder if Arum will try to re-sign him. That would make for some interesting implications.

I'm not saying that their careers are done but only that they were pretty much overrated.
so you're grouping gesta in there with them despite his skill level being nowhere near them?
Damn.... Haters are out in full strength

Funny how many people noticed that. lol

Gesta was utterly lost against Vazquez. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Mercito was walking around like a zombie, letting the fight get away from him without any effort. He's simply not big time. Top Rank is right on this one.

Early on Gesta looked like the real deal, he just couldn't step up in comp when the time came.

it isn't fair imo. He was either put in with people who were levels below or levels above... Never against somebody at or around his level

I getcha, but that makes Gesta mediocre. Sports are an unforgiving business. It's all about being the best. No one wants to watch you if you're just average. Vazquez is obviously better than Mercito, so it was no surprise Gesta lost, but Mercito seemed not to even try in their encounter. If you seek greatness, you've got to go out swinging. Tough to feel sorry for him.

gesta is notorious for taking his foot off the pedal. In his fights leading up to Vasquez he'd start okay then go flat until the end.... Its a reccuring problem. Im just. Saying they brought him up in a horrible way.... Making a canyon leap in competition
I think it was the cuerro and Burnett fights

                      who cares?

oh my gosh does he suck.

arum is probably starting to realize that the pinoy market isn't as strong as it was, and that he'll need another pacquiao, and that donaire and certainly gesta aren't it. donaire will get a bit of the shine when manny is gone, but he's too told and not even close to good enough to get anywhere near manny's level.
