Also, I subtracted myself as well FYI.
I highly agree with this. Mayweather's made this a genuine argument, and one people towards his favor in, since 2009, when I thought it was obviously Pacquiao that ranked higher. And it's all Pacquiao's fault, which as a fan truly disgusts me. Other than Bradley, he's done nothing of note.

Erik's career before zahir raheem- 48-2 only lost to MAB
erik's career from zahir raheem on- 4-7

Is it name recognition or status when they fought?
Morales still looked decent enough to count the second fight as something for Pac. Not anything close to a great win, but one I wouldn't just ignore.

      • Floyd's comeback up to now has been a sham, something wrong or not quite right with almost every fight. He had a real opportunity to do something noteworthy by fighting his fellow LMW champion, Canelo, at LMW....instead he had to go for the catchweight.

He has done absolutely nothing to overtake Manny except tread water. I'm still wondering when this guy will actually get it right and fight the best and hardest opponent he can without any howler's or any of his nonsense.

I can respect this but Morales losing to raheem and his career after that fight must be taken into consideration when assessing Manny's resume.

I don't know, I feel Floyd has masqueraded as this unstoppable guy whilst Pacquiao has been the matador skewering bulls and Floyd's been the guy who chops up the poor moribund guy up to feed to the pigs.

Furthermore, you have to take into account that Pac has been knocked out 3 times and lost against Morales and drew/got KTFO vs Marquez who Floyd schooled with ease. If Marquez was prime when Pac beat him the first time, then he surely was also prime when Mayweather beat him.

But if you really want to go into that discussion, I can also bring up the fact that Cotto could hardly make 147, let alone 145. That Hatton had been brutally outclassed and KO vs Floyd before he fought Pac and ODLH hadn't fought at 147 for ten years and was coming off losses and inactivity when Pac beat him.

But I see you have a clear agenda against Floyd, which is highlighted by some of your other posts, which makes me not want to get into this. I have stated before that I like both guys, but I give the edge slightly to Floyd at this stage.
I don't think the Pacquiao Cotto win should at all be discounted, he came in only 1 pound lighter than his previous fight. There was nothing wrong with Cotto that night except he was demolished by the better man. If Hatton had peaked then he had done so before the Mayweather fight. Indeed the Pacquiao fight was at least at Hatton's best weight, the Mayweather fight was not. I'd probably rate Mayweather's win over De La Hoya higher as Mayweather definitely fought a better version of De La Hoya but you do have to factor in the manner of victory. Mayweather fairly narrowly but deservedly beat De La Hoya, but Pacquiao beat him up bad.

Is the manner of victory of no importance? Raheem beat Morales on the scorecards but Pacquiao beat him up pretty bad in two fights, the only guy to do that to Morales until Garcia did it to him as recently as last October!

              • IAssuming he beats Canelo and gets that lineal title I'm with Mayweather.

                • I still rank Pacquiao higher. A KO loss doesn't instantly erase the fact that he's won the most titles in the most weightclasses in boxing history. All while facing mostly bigger and stronger men to boot.

Well i dont and some of those Champions ****** or is that just the Champions Floyd fought ******. Diaz really but he gets plenty of credit while Floyd and a lineal champ in Baldomir gets laughed at. NSB at its finest. Anything to hate on the man but dont worry alot of tears will stop come Sept 14th

And for me all those stronger bigger guys he ran through like they werent there but no to testing. Red flags for me. Dont wanna get into it cause i think he cheated but to each his own

How manny won is not the issue. The issue is how do you "rank" or assess the 2 Morales wins. History shows he clearly wasn't "ATG Morales" when manny beat him. So I think posters need to keep that in mind.
