Margarito had a wbo welterweight title, he beat Antonio Diaz, Kermit Cintron. Floyd fought Carlos Baldomir who beat Arturo gatti at 140 who had just been clobbered by Floyd. Baldomir won a belt when he benefited from a Zab Judah low blow. Then Floyd fights Zab who at that time was all over the place mentally.

You can go either ways with this topic. Margarito, Cotto, Paul, and even a Shane Mosley circa 2005-2007 wouldhave been epic fights aand Floyd would have been praised and gotten the credit he's looking for today.

I think he understands this and is fighting whoever are the top dogs at GBP now. Just disappointing that the division at welterweight and Jr middleweight are weaker than it was eight years ago..

No, it was very emotional, as is this very post that I'm replying to. I hit a nerve, you got wet and lashed out. I stand by everything I said. They hated Ali, they hated Sugar and They hate Floyd. When I say "They" I mean anyone who is looked for something to complain about when something doesn't go their way involving that fighter. When I say "hate", I don't mean an infuriated passion to see them die, I mean unwarranted scrutiny. Not sure if that cleared anything up for you, but I tried.

"He should have fought Paul"...who beat?????? "He shouldn't of fought Hatton at 147"....despite winning a title their, regardless of how you viewed the fight. Margarito and the Punisher were both campaigning welterweight titlist and both were eons better than Hatton. (Who easily could have been handed a loss in his 1 prior bout at 147 to Collazo), if we're being honest.

You're right.

The public never said he was a scared fighter.
They never said he deliberately waited 8 years to give Hearns a rematch.
They never said he was scared to give Benetiz a rematch.
They never said he deliberately waited on Hagler to get old in order to fight em.
They never said he picked safe opponents and ducked the young guys.
They never rejoiced when Terry Norris beat him.

None of this ever happened and Ray was celebrated his entire career, what was I thinking.
