I think every fighter thats loud co.cky, arrogant, and outspoken gets treated this way. In Ali's era it was more than just boxing politics, he had stances that a majority of w.hite america did not agree with. And he was hated for it. And it caused people to make excuse after excuse for the opponents he faced. Leonard was no where near as controversial but despite his success commercially, he still got s.hit about his opponents as well. This is why i think some posters have a point when they say mayweather will be appreciated down the line. A lot of the same stuff said about him "not fighting the best" ect. Was said in the past about the same fighters you guys call ATG today. Hell, People love Ray Robinson and call him the G.O.A.T but guess what?....outside the ring him and floyd have similarities as well:
Mayweather Hated On Like Ali?

Floyd gets his fair share LOL he dominates the forum daily and 99% is from the same handful of haters making ****** irrelevant threads multiple times a day , and you don't notice the Pac fanboys , ah that's right a part time one of them how would you notice what they do .
You wanna know the first sign of a possible Floyd hater , your beloved green K .Last edited by Reloaded; 08-31-2013, 04:01 PM.Comment

None. Pac could have given him trouble many years ago. But Floyd is good enough to face middleweights IMO. Its a testament to his greatness i expect more from him than any other fighter.
He is without question the best fighter of the last maybe 2 decades. But real greatness should be achieved by over coming great challenges. Like Ali did with Foreman and Liston.
If he handles everyone at 147 and 154 with ease, which so far he has. I only see real challenges at 160.
Although Pac won every round against Marg, he also was hurt and took some damage. Floyd hardly gets hit, and i think his style could defeat much bigger opponents.Comment

i worry about that tho. i never thought a fighter should have to be forced to fight out of his weight class to be considered great because he's better than everyone in his weight class. Floyd has been thru 5 weight divisions already. Pac got 7 and 8 thru catchweights. How much more should we ask of them? Put it this way out of the history of boxing, only 5 fighters have ever been legit quintuple champions:None. Pac could have given him trouble many years ago. But Floyd is good enough to face middleweights IMO. Its a testament to his greatness i expect more from him than any other fighter.

hearns, Mayweather, Pac, Oscar and Leonard. That should tell you something right there. Its not an easy thing to do. Personally, i dont like how floyd looks at 154, he doesnt belong there. I dont care how good you are, at some point size does matter. Floyd has been the smaller man in 42 of his 44 bouts. Asking for 160 is just too much, buuuttttttttt if he ever does it then wowComment
