When you avoid big fights to take time off for your consistant rivals to do battle and come back and say give me the credit for the war, that's the makings of a coward. It's obvious that if floyd faught Cotto, Mosley or Zab in their primes before their wars, they all would have beaten and knocked floyd out. Zab knocked him down, Mosely hit him donkey kong style and and the third washed up guy, Cotto beat him up. It's obvious why you didn't want to fight them early like you was suppose to. No, you will never get the credit for things you don't deserve. True boxing fans and wisdom boxing analysts see through your fake ass.

I dont think he's discrediting, just telling the truth. Plus he backs it up all the time. Alot of fighters in the past have talked crap about their opponents previously. Why is it a problem when Floyd does it. If he can back up his words then why not.Comment

Also would Pacquaio be considered a coward too since he fought and beat Cotto and Mosley when they weren't at their best either?Comment

The one thing everyone here seem to agree is that Mayweather is a good boxer. The major disagreement is whether he was truly tested. The answer to that question is usually based on whether are or not you like him. Where I think this argument get confusing is when some people say he purposefully avoided fighting the best... That this is the basis for his whole career. Or even worst, he waited until his chosen opponent was past their prime or suddenly struck with a certain vulnerability he could take advantage. That would make him the greatest matchmaker in the history of the sport. If Tyson had him matching his opponents, there is no way he would have fought Buster Douglas. Roy Jon's would never fought Tarver, and Wladimir Klitscko would never fought Brewster. In fact with Mayweather as a matchmaker, ther would be no upsets in the sport of boxing. You certainly wouldn't get Mares getting KO'd in the 1st round last week. Finally, someone please explain to me what they saw in the Cotto, Mosely, or even De la Hoya fight to give them the idea that these fights would go any other way if the fight was earlier. What was it about Margarito, Williams, or even the great Pacquiao that make you think he wouldn't beat them either. He's getting ready to face one of his riskiest opponents in a few weeks. Lets see if he gets credit for beating Canelo if he does win.Last edited by HarvardBlue; 08-31-2013, 09:55 AM.Comment

Why would he demand a catch weight at 145 when he had already fought at 147????? Why would he demand another catch weight at 150lb for cotto for a rematchLMAO! This proved my point how ******ed the floydiots are.
A past prime washed up Oscar almost beat Floyd. The same Oscar past prime washed up Pac made him quit and retired for good.
Floyd saw 140 Hatton struggled at 147. Floyd made Hatton to move up at 147 and ko him in 10. Pac after the Oscar fight at 147 moved down and fought Hatton in his best weight division 140 and ko him in 2.
Pac beat Marquez first in his best weight division. Floyd tricked Marquez to fight a catchweight fight at welterweight and weight cheated him.
Floyd faked his retirement to duck prime younger Cotto. Pac moved up to 145 catweight fight after he fought Hatton at 140 and tko him in 12.
So should I go on?Comment

Well first of all we..or at least me, wasn't judge Floyd based on hate. I don't hate him, why should I hate him at the first place. I just hate it when some one make some claim or being proclaimed by some particular people without done something that made him deserve for that claim. You got to get your credit by consensus, just like all the great sportsman. I'm no hater and nor Pacqiau fans either. I'm not rooting for any fighter,I'm rooting for history and facts. And I just wondering why does anyone who stand up for Floyd always bragging about PAC as well while he has nothing to do with the topic in this thread. The one thing everyone here seem to agree is that Mayweather is a good boxer. Answering your comment why people think the result might differ if he fought Oscar,Cotto,Mosley earlier. Well the answer is simple, people who are not blind can see that Oscar was much faster, consistent, and aggressive in his younger days which we defined as his prime. Same goes to Mosley and the others. As simple as that. For the result we dont know honestly whether they will beat Floyd or not.Because we ain't no a clairvoyance. But we sure it will give him more proper challenge which will give him proper credit as well should he win the fight.
And sure we will give him credit if he beat Canelo in a proper way (no sucker punch,no dirty tactics) since it will be his first fight that come to 50-50 chance in last 10 years according to experts and some people here. I personally think Canelo will KO Floyd. if he can knock down Trout, why Floyd can't ? This is boxing and both fighter will get hit eventually no matter how elusive you are. But who knows, anything can happen. Just enjoy the fight as an entertainment, no hate, no hard feeling.Comment

It's rather funny that the only thing you have to say is that I'm another alt with the same ole lies and exaggerations. Well I used to have another nick (Mr. Planas) but wanted to change it and couldn't still trying to maintain my history. I have nothing to hide.
I speak with facts, yet you do not provide any evidence to counter my claims. You just attack the poster without refuting the actual message.
It's a fact, Corrales, Casamayor and Freitas were all undefeated champions in the same weight class as Floyd. And yes they all fought each other with Floyd only choosing to fight Corrales.
It's a fact that Floyd fought Corrales in the midst of Corrales facing a jail sentence for domestic violence abuse.
It's a fact that the ringside consensus was that Castillo beat Floyd in the first fight.
It's a fact that after the Castillo scare Floyd went on the cherry picking road and fought from 2003 to 2005. Sosa, Ndou, Corley and Bruseles.
It's a fact that Floyd wisely chose to fight next the popular but limited Arturo Gatti. Didn't seek to fight the other young 140 champions. (Even if Floyd would have beat them, they were better then the next fighters Floyd fought, with the exception of Judah who is maybe debatable, if compared to 140 title holders Hatton or Harris, no question Cotto would have beaten them).
After Gatti, Floyd continued his cherry picking ways and fought Mitchell, Judah (Who was at the time previously defeated) and Baldomir (the other weakest champ). There is a video of Brian Kenny who back then worked in ESPN Friday Night Fights questioning Floyd about picking Baldomir with Floyd countering with his typical response "You don't know notin bout boxing".
After Baldomir, Floyd's villain image and the Gatti beat down had cause enough stir to lure the Golden Boy into the fight that catapulted him to mainstream media. Floyd followed up with the biggest welterweight threat (sarcasm) called Ricky Hatton (who badly struggled at 147) and the rest is history.
Undoubtedly, facts are facts... Even if you don't want to admit them.Comment

You have facts in there like who Floyd fought, but there is a lot of opinion in relation to level and how things went down~It's rather funny that the only thing you have to say is that I'm another alt with the same ole lies and exaggerations. What about the Brian Kenny interview where he dogged Floyd for not fighting Baldomir~
Also point of fact Vivian Harris lost the night Floyd beat Gatti to Maussa, so if Floyd fought Harris after Gatti I can clearly see what you would say.
Also you make a big deal out of 7 pounds are you serious if Hatton was a legit fight at 140 he was at 147 as Floyd is not a big welter and he would have held the exact same advantages at 140 as 147 unless that weight makes him shrink. Plus you act like Frietas and Corrales were breaking down doors to fight Floyd, let me give you a hint fighters didn't want to see Floyd at a point in his career~
So all in all a terrible assessment.Comment
