Had he run the gauntlet of Margarito, Mosely, Cotto, Pacquiao, Williams when any of them were at their best & most dangerous in stead of retiring & allowing them to beat each other up He'd be considered the greatest welter of all times perhaps & we wouldn't be having this debate.....But we all know how that story turned out..

Say he did that then well be here saying if he hadnt "ducked" Diego, hatton, oscar, and zab he would be considered great.Had he run the gauntlet of Margarito, Mosely, Cotto, Pacquiao, Williams when any of them were at their best & most dangerous in stead of retiring & allowing them to beat each other up He'd be considered the greatest welter of all times perhaps & we wouldn't be having this debate.....But we all know how that story turned out..Comment

He gets too much credit if you ask me,h.o.f?yes g.o.a.t? Not even close.Robinson,Ali have stacked resumes against atg opposition name 1 atg floyd has faced in his prime? in a even playing field not 37yr 135 Jmm at 146lb.
Judah coming of baldomir loss?baldomir with 9 losses 6 draws?Oscar/Genaro are his best wins they were both at the end of their careers. He had already accumulated 4 L's & multiple wars.38 yr Mosley after beating plastercheato?Or hatton after surviving callozo?Again none atg great, only oscar but he wasn't in his prime.Floyd has fought solid competition but carefully managed & simply vastly overrated resume.Comment

Because everyone believes so much in Canelo, You will get credit for whooping Ginger's @$$ for 12 rounds straight...Mayweather UD. Counter , counter , potshot and a tired Canelo has no response for the Mayweather Code...De La Hoya "well we tried all we could but it wasn't enough"... Canelo " Mayweather es el mejor peleador del Mundo, nunca he peleado con alguien de esta categoria, perdona Mexico, aprendere de esta pelea"... Mosley "I kinda knew Mayweather was going to school the kid but I needed to keep shut while he was training in my gym, but i could beat either of them in a rematch... Mayweather" You know, Canelo is a tough dude , showed a lot of heart, he is a true champion, but this is a whole other level... Mayweather Sr " my son whooped that @$$, like I told you he will... Roach " Canelo never had a chance"...All Mexico " maldito Mayweather, es muy chingon"... Floyd Haters"NOO not again, who else do we have...

Like I always say, Floyd himself is the reason why he don't get any credit. Example: Even if he beats Alvarez, Alvarez would still be considered undefeated because of the catchweight. And that's according to Floyd. So that's good reason not to give Floyd credit according to Floyd.Comment

This attention starved little whiner is going off the deep end once the boxing career heads south. You can bet the farm on it.Comment

Top notch post. ........Floyd's point is actually rather shallow when you examine it beneath the surface. Every fighter (even Bernard Hopkins!) goes through a normal career pattern/cycle that includes the following:
1) younger years where inexperience is a significant factor
2) becoming more experienced and moving into their prime
2) a seasoned veteran sloping downward in terms of their physical attributes
Canelo is clearly still in category #1 (despite his 42 fights, he is only 23, and almost all of his fights have not been against top competition)
When Mayweather fought Mosley and Cotto (for example), they were both clearly in category #3.
Floyd doesn't seem to understand the above reality. What people have criticized him for (and perhaps with some justification -- I don't know all the ins & outs and politics behind the scenes) is that he hasn't fought more top-tier opponents in category #2. Instead he tries to spin his resume as though the different categories didn't exist. ........ But they do, Floyd.

He's confusing me.
