Rigo put a clinic on Donaire. I hate that HBO doesnt want him on his cards. Thats so ******. We love boxing.. No MMA ****. Im a Donaire fan and I really thought he would KO Rigo but what a clinic he put on him.

Maybe not everyones cuppa but I love that fight and have watched it so0o0o many times including after when I read this thread.

The skill level on display was ridiculous. The precision, speed, counter punching between two elite fighters. It had a knockdown, it had everything considering it was one sided and still people aren't satisfied.

      Rounds 3, 4, 10, 11 & 12 was epic especially 3 & 4 (seriously watch those two rounds)

Just a beautiful display of technical boxing between two of the best counter punchers in the sport.
Classic southpaw vs orthodox high speed chess match.

If HBO and TR jump to make Donaire/Kiko, that should make their agenda crystal clear.
Did you really just use GGG - a high-action knockout artist who goes for the kill every fight and endears himself to the US fans - as an example for what Rigondeaux - a low-action runner who couldn't entertain a puppy - could become?...

This is professional boxing. In professional boxing, fighters need to be able to generate viewership (money). Being fan-friendly is the most important thing a fighter needs to do for any promoter to be able to market him. One can be fan-friendly by fighting like a professional boxer (as opposed to an amateur) by going for the kill (or at least, going forward, instead of full-time countering), speaking English (this is America) and being entertaining outside of the ring (making music, connecting with fans, doing controversial shít, have an interesting personality, etc). Rigondeaux does none of that..

            Absolutely.
All Donaire did was plod forward, probing and looking for one big shot and everytime he found it he got repaid in kind and made to look ridiculous.

Makes me laugh how they're saying Rigo is boring yet look how many stinkers Donaire has been in!
Nishioka, subpar against Rigo, Awful against Narvaez, Vasquez Jr & Mathebula the list goes on.

Lets face it the boring fighter here is Donaire when he can't land that left hook and take a guy out.

Both you idiots sound like the type to dismiss a fighter as soon as he has lost.

As opposed to attacking his style why don't you favor a fighter in beating him?

Oh, that's right. You are in it for mental midgets ****ing it out. PriZefighting.

You're right that their styles couldn't possibly be more different. 3G comes to kill, therefore he's easier to sell. He's also been demolishing his opponents, two of them were over-matched (Ishida, Rosado) while the other two were respectable (Macklin, Proksa). Rigo has only had one HBO fight though, against the most proven guy in the lower weight classes and got the W. I don't think Nonito has received much criticism because it wasn't entertaining. But again, anybody who's knowledgeable would know that this wasn't gonna be a slug-fest, it was high-speed chess. This wasn't a match-up to please the casual fan, it was to find out who the best fighter was. HBO and Arum knew what they were getting into. If they are concerned with entertainment, then match Rigo with a pressure fighter. If they aren't satisfied with the results, then release from his contract.

I also agree that if Rigo wants to get on HBO's good side, he should go get Rosetta Stone and make the effort.

Ok , I think Rigondeaux is going to give a second chance to Donaire be prepared and do his best

All what I am worried about is Donaire ducking him because he didn't ENJOY fighting him

Donaire and his fans enjoy exciting fighters like Mares ^^

                      somehow this was donaire's fault?

those fights were boring for the same reasons pacquiao-mosley was boring

the opposition was scared, running or throwing next to nothing utilizing a passive defense
