Rigo has only had one HBO fight though, against the most proven guy in the lower weight classes and got the W. I don't think Nonito has received much criticism because it wasn't entertaining. But again, anybody who's knowledgeable would know that this wasn't gonna be a slug-fest, it was high-speed chess. This wasn't a match-up to please the casual fan, it was to find out who the best fighter was. HBO and Arum knew what they were getting into. If they are concerned with entertainment, then match Rigo with a pressure fighter. If they aren't satisfied with the results, then release from his contract.

I also agree that if Rigo wants to get on HBO's good side, he should go get Rosetta Stone and make the effort.

Those were on Pac's undercards though, Donaire/Rigo was his first time on the HBO channel and it did pretty good ratings. They should at least give him another chance against a stylistically suitable opponent.

I really liked it. Not in the same way I liked Alvarez-Rios II, to be sure, but I wasn't bored.

Miley Cyrus put on a better performance than Rigo. Atleast she got a reaction out of me. With Rigo I was fighting to change the channel or not. I see why HBO didn't want him

Could well have a valid point, THC. I'll keep it in mind if I rewatch it. However, I doubt it will "irk" me as much as that knucklehead crowd that booed at the drop of a hat when there wasn't Rock'em-Sock'em Robots-type action every second in the ring. No appreciation for the finer aspects of the sweet science.

well I suppose you can say what u want about the OP but he's view of rignodeaux being boring is probably what the 99% of casual fans think and IS a problem for rigo if he want to make big bucks

Donaire and his fans claim that he didnt prepare seriously for this fight, but what they dont know is that there is no gameplan to beat Rigondeaux. Only a phantom punch can derail Rigondeaux.
