Does Jhonny Gonzalez have a better resume than Andre Ward?

It does apply here. Just cause he lost before doesn't discredit his wins. That's true but in this case you have to look at their current records and it doesn't apply here. Has Ward ever lost to the caliber of fighters that Gonzalez has lost to? No he has not. He has shown a better chin and overall has dominated top fighters in much more impressive fashion. I don't even see how this is up for debate unless there is genuine hatred for Ward.
When you speak of greats that have double digit losses, what is the first thing do to defend that? They start praising their wins correct?
LOL @ chin....there is plenty of people with better chins than Marquez but that doesn't make them better than him.
I don't have no genuine hate for Ward btw.Comment

That cleaned out a division is such a myth. Just cause he won the super 6 doesn't mean so. Was he the one who beat Bute? Nope......Who beat Abraham before he did? He beat Froch...I give him that.Ward has cleaned out a division,,, and is the lineal champ at 168, plus has a win over the lineal 175 champ albeit at 168..
gonzalez has never cleaned out a division, and to my knowledge never the lineal champ
thats my rationale,, both guys have good resumes, but i give the nod to ward
But Gonzalez been competitive in 3 divisions. A champion in 2.Comment

If you dont think ward cleaned out 168, i dont know what to tell you... Who would he have needed to beat,,, every champion and highly rated guy has been beaten by ward,, you can say bute, but he wasnt in super 6 and then got blown out by froch.... So it was more of a case that bute couldnt hang on the elite level long enough to land a ward match,, if he could have beaten froch he would have gotten his ward fight,,,, ward didnt duck him....
just wondering who ward would have to beat to clean out the division,,, and dont say dirrel, who has pretty much been in hibernation for the last few years, and dont say the younger guys just now on the scene like Edwin ROdgriguez or Oostizeun, because there is always a upcoming guy,, impossible to beat everyone in the division,, but from 08-13 he was beaten all the top guys,,,
Jhonny G,, is a good fighter, but has never dominanted any weight class,,
get back to me when he is lineal champ, or has at least unified, been on a p4p list, let alone top 5 or 3 p4p.........
To think the gonzalez's resume is better than wards, is kinda nonsenseComment

It depends when they lost, that's a weak argument right there. You seem to be describing when greats fight well after their prime, with the whole "double digit losses".It does apply here. Just cause he lost before doesn't discredit his wins.

Are you sure about? Your posting history suggests that you don't like fighters with a certain skin color. And then there's you choice of avatar picture.
But anyway....I think Gonzalez has a very good resume. And beating Mares is the crown ***el on that list so far. However I would say that his best wins aren't as good as Andre's.
Just my opinion.Comment
