    COMMON SENSE!

I for one am so glad I don't live in the eras like the so called golden age.

Feather fistedness, fighters so weak they couldn't knock out an average school kid with one punch.

Rudimentary skills, guys born too early to learn how to keep opponents at the end of a jab, brawling inside taking shot after shot until they're exhausted and punch drunk. That's not great boxing!

Today there's skills, athleticism and power like never before and all in the same fighters too. Now everyone is s slugger, everyone is a technical boxer, and the ones that aren't have to be ****ing tanks to keep up and compete with that!

Tyson would definitely be able to **** with today he was very special and meets the above criteria well. But what opponents did Tyson KO in 1 round? Tyson never KO'd an opponent at all who was as decent as one of todays opponents and he struggled with opponents 6'4" plus who weren't absolute bums. Facts are facts!

Excellent thread, someone had to shine a light through the fog of delusion. Well done Shady!!
You can stop trolling now, you've got so ******ed that nobody is going to believe you're serious.

I might not think it's the best era ever, but I do think a pair of boxers are among the best ever - i.e. Klitschkos.

In ice hockey, Detroit Red Wings 2013 would have destroyed Detroit Red Wings 1937 Stanley Cup Champs.
Like Wlad, or Vitali, would have destroyed Joe Louis.

But it isn't fair, or of importance, to compare since humans develope during time.
      As Sonny Liston said:
"You cannot separate a champion from his time."

Compare this joe Louis whom was 6 ft 1, or a guy Ali nearly got koed by henry cooper, 6ft and 180 pounds. Im sorry these guys would get blitczed by the shear Athleticism of the Heavyweights nowadays.

Also boxing use to be a American only sport bar the odd randomer. Now its a world wide sport were every corner of the world competes.

The Cubans and eastern block(the best) could not compete in the pros until 1990.

This is the best era ever.

If jennings, or Wilder take over the division, i bet the division is going to instantly become respectable.

Yeah that 90's list above is a serious list of challengers for todays heavies.

That is a debate worth having.

Lewis's era, vs Wladimir's era is close and hotly contested imo.

The earlier eras like Ali and Louis are just rubbish by comparison though. It'd be KO field day for both the recent eras!

Sad thing is 90% of the jokes who claim otherwise really know that it's true just cannot admit it!

Incorrect. Quality is not determined based on nationality, there are only a very small minority who follow this theory.

Name me the top 10 HW's right now and we'll discuss.
