Tyson is no where near any of these guys, his best win are burbeck(who beat a zombie Ali) Spinks whom was a blown up Cruiser and Bruno(who would have been embarrassed by the Klitsckos)

Face it, the 60's and 70's were midgets compared to this era..and it was only Unathletic Americans, now the rest of the world fights...

Mercer was just a contender in the 90's..

he would beat the hell out of every heavy today not named klitcko..

same goes for razor ruddock, and bruno

This isnt the worst heavy division, but most certainly with 100% accuracy this is not the best ever,,,

its the 70's and the 90's... then everything else,,,,

i tend to agree, people act there wasnt always some out of shape heavywieghts.
          Another MYTH BUSTED!

In the past the CHAMPIONS WERE FAT! Today the champions are lean and six packed, there opponents are athletic and only SOME of them are fat!

Tony Thompson is a quality HW. The best from America atm anyway! He is just past prime. I think Thompson would have beat up the version of Tyson that Holy and Lewis fought!

Well Bruno, Ruddock etc were decent boxers. But Bruno always struggled and Ruddock got knocked out by Morrison, Tyson and Lewis!

Today they would fare roughly the same!

I wonder what Haye, Fury, Pulev etc would think about KOing those boxers. Paycheck yes!

Heavyweights are just pathetic right now. You know your division is poor when a fighter like Tony Thompson is a top 5 fighter.
your going to 5hit on tony?

he is a good fighter, ill put him in any era and he will shine... very underated fighter.

I do think he's special and he is a great boxer. I reckon the prime version would **** out some comp today but he isn't dominating anybody.

Shady is right, my old hero did in fact KO bums, he never KO'd a decent guy much bigger than himself! Today he would find himself in a much tougher situation. As he did in the 90's!

I have even heard arguments from the Russians that most of Wladimir's opponents are better than what Lennox had and although I am also a Lewis fan there is substantial merit to that argument. It can't be denied, this era is pretty bloody strong!

thing is there could of been some great hw but wlad and vitali ruined fighters.

look at the cotto and vargas situation for example... to me they got ruined, never the same after those fights.

wlad and vitali takes something out of these hw.
