Just wondering what people's views are? I mean, I'm seeing a lot of people saying he only ever beat Manny.

So he has :

Pacquiao (KTFO6)
Juan Diaz (KO9)

Casamayor, Barrera, Juarez, Gainer, Salido, Katsidis

2 weight champ. Thoughts? I do personally.

And you still have a guy who was a world champion in 3 weight classes and was the lineal Lightweight champion in his late 30's and he would have a record of 54-4 if you remove Pac. Still not seeing exactly what nonsense you are trying to prove here other then you are holding him to a very very very high standard that only like 4 other boxers coud have possiably achieved. Seriously by the standards you would use to admit someone into the hall of fame you can go ahead and wipe out 98% of all the current fighters in the Hall of fame.

I do find it a bit strange that at his late age, Marquez after linking up with his new "coach" suddenly has a new physique and the power to put Manny to sleep with 1 shot.


Other than that little issue, and his terrible performance against Floyd, I would say Hall of Fame not sure about "ATG." Sorry man, even Cotto managed to look somewhat competitive against Floyd.

I think the Manny fights made him...I wont give him too much credit for his win over a past it barrera. Wait, he lost to Chris John... Honestly, Marquez is a bit overrated.

I am a huge Marquez fan and supporter but ATG is hard to say, I believe that the one notch on Marquez's resume that he does not have is a win over an athletic American boxer. I truly believe Marquez himself knows this and is why he pushed for the fight with Bradley. He coulda easily retired after the Pac KO or took the big $$$ to fight Pac a 5th time but he wanted to prove to himself and critics he could beat a fighter of a different skillset. The one fight that defined Julio Cesar Chavez was his win over Meldrick Taylor and although Bradley aint Taylor, beating a very athletic, undefeated, world champ at 40 years old will be Marquezs security to ATG status and I feel itll help him surpass JCC as the best fighter to ever come out of Mexico.

I like to think the ref won that fight. Taylor whooped his ass all night and the ref stepped in and stole it from Taylor with seconds to go.

i don't remember ottke refusing testing. wrong as usual. yes he did do usada random testing which we found out was a total farce. only tested for certain things and not others and results not released so what's the point? to trick people looks like it worked....also he didn't do any testing after he teamed up with a known steroid cheat and suddenly became huge in an impossibly short amount of time.

He teamed up with Memo months before their third fight. Anyone that trains professionally, as hard as Marquez does, is going to bulk up if they focus on it and that is what they focused on. Bulk and muscle. It really isn't hard....just a lot of work. When you're paid millions to do it professionally though....
