Andre Ward Vs Calzaghe Resume: Not even close

    Best Wins:

Ward = Kessler Calzaghe = Hopkins

I still consider Hopkins the best win on Joe's resume. A crafty ATG still in very good shape and form (won titles half a decade later) Calzaghe went away from homeand stepped up in weight to take on B-Hop and won.

Ward's best win is a slightly faded Kessler (he still beat prime Froch in his next fight so i rank him higher than Froch) who ward beat by headbutting to death in his hometown

I think there is little doubt that 2008 Hopkins would put a pavlik like schooling on Kessler that Ward fought

    Hopkins the better win

    Second Best Wins:

Ward = Froch Calzaghe = Kessler

A decent win by Ward over a very tough but limited campaigner.

Calzaghes second best win was against a prime Kessler who calzaghe adjusted to and beat up down the stretch.

A shopworn Kessler beat Froch, Prime version possibly stops him

    Kessler the better win.

    Third Best Wins:

Ward = Abraham Calzaghe = Eubank

Wards third best win is a hype job midget with no skill who got beat to **** by every super middleweight he faced

Calzaghe third best win was the cagey veteran Chris Eubank, a multi weight titlist who was highly skilled

    Eubank the better win

    Fourth Best Wins

Ward = Dawson Calzaghe = Lacy

Wards fourth best win was a badly weight drained mental midget, Bad Chad Dawson.

Calzaghe fourth best win was undefeated champion and former olympic medalist Jeff Lacy. Sadly a shoulder injury would mean Lacy was never the same after this fight

I think Prime Lacy would find Dawsons chin at some stage and put him out

    Lacy the better win

After this they both have Bika, and thats where Wards resume ends

Calzaghe has solid world level wins over: Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell amongst others.

Calzaghe has by far the better resume at this stage, to deny it is lunacy.

Absolutely no way is Eubank Calzaghe's third best win.

Calzaghe has a horrific resume but considering Eubank to be his third best win is unfair, even for Calzaghe's standard.

2 of Ward's top 3 wins are over guys that Calzaghe beat years earlier but the Yank's will tell you he's got a way better resume and has cleaned out the division

Ward's win over Abraham, who had been previously exposed and dominated by Dirrell and Froch, is better than his win over Dawson? Yes, Dawson was weight drained but he was still the lineal light heavyweight champion. On paper it's a much better win.

Also you said Kessler was faded when he fought Ward, but there's no mention of Eubank being faded when he fought Calzaghe, clear bias.

And faded or not, Ward thoroughly dominated Kessler, headbutts don't explain why Kessler was technically picked apart. That's the difference : Ward's best win is a clear domination while Calzaghe's best win is a disputed decision in a fight where he suffered a knock down.

I don't know how to put this to you, but someone younger (ward) will inevitably fight boxers after someone older (Calzaghe) fought them. That because time runs only one way.....ummmmm...

Unless Ward has a time machine how can he fight these boxers before Calzaghe.

you're going to hate andre ward until the day you die, aren't you earl?

            rofl.

his best win is not kessler, it's froch. he destroyed the top SMW contender, who went on to meaningful wins before and since. i gave froch 2 rounds, and one of those 10-9's is a bit generous.

Ward's best win is over a guy that Joe undressed and ruined in front of 50,000 people years earlier. Andre should bow down and praise Sir Joe for giving him the blueprint on how to achieve his best career win.
