I still consider Hopkins the best win on Joe's resume. A crafty ATG still in very good shape and form (won titles half a decade later) Calzaghe went away from homeand stepped up in weight to take on B-Hop and won.

Ward's best win is a slightly faded Kessler (he still beat prime Froch in his next fight so i rank him higher than Froch) who ward beat by headbutting to death in his hometown

I think there is little doubt that 2008 Hopkins would put a pavlik like schooling on Kessler that Ward fought

    Hopkins the better win

    Second Best Wins:

Ward = Froch Calzaghe = Kessler

A decent win by Ward over a very tough but limited campaigner.

Calzaghes second best win was against a prime Kessler who calzaghe adjusted to and beat up down the stretch.

A shopworn Kessler beat Froch, Prime version possibly stops him

    Kessler the better win.

    Third Best Wins:

Ward = Abraham Calzaghe = Eubank

Wards third best win is a hype job midget with no skill who got beat to **** by every super middleweight he faced

Calzaghe third best win was the cagey veteran Chris Eubank, a multi weight titlist who was highly skilled

    Eubank the better win

    Fourth Best Wins

Ward = Dawson Calzaghe = Lacy

Wards fourth best win was a badly weight drained mental midget, Bad Chad Dawson.

Calzaghe fourth best win was undefeated champion and former olympic medalist Jeff Lacy. Sadly a shoulder injury would mean Lacy was never the same after this fight

I think Prime Lacy would find Dawsons chin at some stage and put him out

    Lacy the better win

After this they both have Bika, and thats where Wards resume ends

Calzaghe has solid world level wins over: Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell amongst others.

Calzaghe has by far the better resume at this stage, to deny it is lunacy.
What a thoroughly detailed break down filled with facts. I thank you sir for delivering this wonderful post to to us. This thread deserves 5 stars for sure

      Ward has ther better resume.

Dawson was weight drained though, he was looking good until he walked out for the 3rd round and had no energy left, he was literally gassed after two rounds...he was also already damaged goods.

Also you said Kessler was faded when he fought Ward, but there's no mention of Eubank being faded when he fought Calzaghe, clear bias.

And faded or not, Ward thoroughly dominated Kessler, headbutts don't explain why Kessler was technically picked apart. That's the difference : Ward's best win is a clear domination while Calzaghe's best win is a disputed decision in a fight where he suffered a knock down.
I have a lot of respect for Joe but I have to agree with this.

it doesn't matter. H2H Calzaghe beats Ward. Too fast, too busy and too unorthodox.

Admittedly Calzaghe's resume isn't the best but he's underrated on NSB.

the fact you guys have to defend calz from ward proves ward will not only surpass calz soon he will make his resume look like a bum list.

kessler is a footnote in wards resume, but for calz beside barely beating hopkins its the only thing he ever did in his whole career!

ward has completely embarrassed calz existence in boxing he's made the guy a coke using joke.

ward may not have been able to beat this coke using loser in the ring(because of his cowardly retirement), but resume wise at the same number of fights(26-0) ward has already destroyed calz.

so just imagine ward resume at 46-0 the comparison will be absolutely embarrassing for calz.

these are the same guys that call vitali a atg so i'm not surprised they're angry at the biracial king of the smw division that is

            Andre Ward

His best win and performance is a footnote on his resume?

              Interesting.

And how do you know this? I'm just bringing up the facts.

Dawson (a good sized Light Heavyweight) went down 7 pounds to 168 for the first time in 6-7 years and only had 4 months (from his last fight) to lose all that muscle weight.

He was admittedly KO'd in sparring by Miranda a week before the fight--he got dropped, tried to get back up but stumbled back down and had to get treated.

At the weight in he barely made weight at 168 on the dot.

In the actual fight he gassed after only 2 rounds, which is what happens to severely weight drained opponents.

Lastly, after the fight he complained about being severely weight drained.

These are the facts, you can interpret them as you want so long as you back your claims with proper reasoning--something you clearly are not doing.
