  • I'm a huge Mayweather fan and I simply think that there were to many egos involved for this fight to happen. I wish PAC would have just conceived to Mayweather's demands, whether they were reasonable or not, just to make the fight happen. Mayweather feels as if he's the cash cow who calls all the shots because he beat De La Hoya when Oscar was the cash cow. If PAC would have beat Mayweather back in 2010, then he would of been the cash cow and in control of the negotiations. Now after all of these years, the fight has lost a lot of steam as PAC appears to have slowed down. In order for this fight to pick back up to what it once was, PAC is going to have to completely destroy Rios. Rios cannot win a round and PAC cannot let it go the full 12. PAC may even have to avenge at least one of his losses against Marquez or Bradley in order to assure a fight with Mayweather, but again, he has to dominate that fight as well and only then we'll be back to where we were, assuming Mayweather doesn't lose a fight between now and then.

Also, Arum has to really show Mayweather the money. It has to be significant and too much to pass up. Mayweather is already going to make about 30-40 million from Showtime. Arum is going to have to give Mayweather the pay-per-view money or a significant amount. It's sad that it has to come to this, but I guess that's why he calls himself 'Money'.

I prefer watching all sporting events (basketball, football, boxing) at the comfort of my own home, although I do go to check out some of the NFL and NBA games live at the stadiums/arenas from time to time. This would be the first and only fight that I would want to see live (If in the U.S.). Too bad it will get sold out within a hour.

    • The mere mention of blood testing has scared certain fighters to death in this sport. Hilarious!

Because of Arum, Floyd and Manny. You know that.

          • Arum will ruin this by saying "We agree to everything, but the fight happens in China" to which mayweather will refuse.

Fight still not and never will happen, unless we see a Mayweather loss vs Alvarez.

I'm a boxing fan so I want to see Mayweather who is considered #1 fight the best and stop making excuses or retiring just to avoid these guys.
Yeah, but when you say things like Floyd avoided fighting the best, it alludes that you have a dog in the fight. Whether you do or don't doesn't matter, my main point is that I want the fight too, but people need to stop lying to themselves as if this was ever an even fight, it never was. One fighter was clearly better than the other and it's always been the case. I'm a fan of Floyd's and I also think Manny is one helluva fighter, but people claiming Floyd ducked him because Manny had a strong possibility of winning is an outright lie. Canelo's got a better chance at beating Floyd than Manny ever did, and I don't give Alvarez that much of a shot at all. Styles make fights, and Manny would have been almost too easy of a fight for Floyd. It's a shame that the BOTH of them, couldn't work it out because the boxing world could been back to normal a long time ago.

arum better stop this nonsense. floyd will never fight pacquiao.
fact that floyd kept moving the goal post is a clear indication.

Floyd requesting Manny to leave Top Rank= moving the goal post.
Arum requesting the fight take place in China= aye ok.
Alright bro, it's all Floyd hindering the fight from happening, we get it.

                • I think that Mayweather has no had a legitimate KO in all of those years because he did not bring any power to 147. All of his power was at 140 and lower, but he brought speed and quickness to 147. He is slow at 154 and tries to go toe-to-toe at that weight, but hopefully for him, he comes in at around 150 so he can still utilize his speed come 9/14

if you guys really love floyd, that is if you really DO love him (loving someone is equivalent to not showing support to a drug-addicted friend for his addiction by giving him money), you need to stop defending his excuses to duck a fight. aren't you guys feel sorry for his ducking reputation? is that what love means? aren't you sick of hearing people say he is a coward and let him have that kind of reputation by defending the very same things that make him look like one? you guys have been defending his excuses for years now, did things change? no. what exactly are you afraid of? are you afraid of seeing him get beaten by pacquiao? what if the reverse is true? even then what is so wrong with losing one fight or two? like the saying goes, it's better to die once courageously than die a thousand times cowardly.
