Are we going to pretend the De Leon and Quintero fights didn't happen? Not only I did he not win easily he very arguably lost both fights.

Broner was absolutely not in control throughout the Pauli fight. Despite winning he wasn't in control at the start nor the championship rounds. A prime Pauli could well have beaten him.

He's done nothing to suggest he will sail through at the top level. A guy who's struggled numerous times at a pitiful level isn't likely to walk though the top level.

I don't rate Maidana highly at all but Broner won't walk through him either. Chances are he struggles.

So you think Paulie should change his entire style just to accommodate Broner? LOL[/QUOTE]

Well that's why he lost the fight because he was backing up all night long. Broner was given the nod because he was the effective aggressor. While Paulie may have landed the cleaner punches yet it was Broner who was landing the most effective punches by keeping Paulie at bay with his power while walking him down in the process. Malignaggi was sticking and moving but yet he was still getting hit quite frequently by the accurate punching of Adrien Broner.

u bring up the quintero fight which is the only guy that can really be considered low level. but then again that figt happened quite some time ago, against a fighter who was totally different from the broner who fights today. maliganggi and de leon are by no means low level fighters. they are world level. are they great or elite? no, but they arent low level either. and lets say he fights maidana and doesnt struggle, does that change your opinion? from what i see from the kid, there are certain styles he will continue to struggle from, maidana's isnt one of them.

They aren't low level but they aren't high level.

De Leon is dead average at best. Malignaggi is good but passed his best. Both are fighters you should not be struggling with if you are an elite level fighter.

If he fights Maidana and doesn't struggle then I will change my opinion but that simply won't happen.

Hes not elite imo. Hes about a good 3 years away from being an elite fighter if he progresses correctly.

i rarely disagree with u, but im confident there wont be a struggle. when u talk about broner and his deficiencies u have to look at what he does well and what he doesnt, what presents a problem for him. to me, from what i saw, there are two things, volume punching and movement. and to me, looking at this, when hes faced down guys who have neither of these, hes looked great. maidana has neither, hes wild, and he comes at u, making him hard to miss. broner will likely look specatular in this fight. u are one of the few posters i respect greatly on here. so i look forward to having this convo after that fight, whether i be right or wrong.

His deficiencies spread further than that.

His defense is poor as is his footwork. I've yet to see him effectively hold which is what lead him to struggle in his fights with De Leon and Pauli.

He's never fought someone who brings aggression and power like Maidana and when Maidana comes forward and he stands in the pocket failing miserably at imitating the shoulder roll and starts getting consistently tagged with legit power for the first time in his career he is likely to be in trouble.

If he fights Maidana and miraculously becomes a good defensive fighters who can fight well off the back foot then I will change my mind. Maybe he's hiding those abilities. That I doubt, though.

Elite fighters don't struggle at the level he's been fighting at.
