This move by Matthysse's team (don't believe for a second that Lucas Matthysse makes decisions like this) is directed more at Angel Garcia than Danny. What better way to get under the skin of the opposing trainer who is known as a mind-games, trash talker than to not even show up to give him an opportunity.

Good call. It says absolutely nothing about Matthysse's courage or willingness to fight Danny Garcia. Anyone saying that is completely clueless.

That tour will take a week off from his training camp. Yea he can find a gym in any city but it takes away from a fighters rhythm. He also has to fly thousands of miles to and from the US and things like jet lag and stuff can get you off that rhythm. When was the last time there was a press tour a month out from a big fight? Name one. They dont happen for a reason

Like I said, its not wrestling. This is not an easy fight and he will train to be the very best he can be....he's a boxer, its what he does. What relevance is it what his fans think. They arent the ones fighting or training.

I dont know how its "not smart" for a fighter to continue the rhythm of training camp instead of going for a week long tour thousands of miles away. Yea Lucas is taking Garcia seriously, please explain how thats a bad thing.

Unprofessional? Yes fighters do press conferences but how this fight is 40 days away so it's not like he's doing a press conference before training camp this is right in the heat of it and it's easy for Garcia to say yes when he trains in America as opposed to Argentina like Matthysse. I would have loved to see angel talk **** to Matthysse but it's the fight I care about seeing and he had no problems signing that
