I would rather see GGG fight :

    Peter Quillin
    Chavez JR
May JR,,,,,OH oh sorry, GGG said he could go to 154, for Jr's paper title he is still holding, but we know he is chicken ####, GGG would rip his heart out and feed it to the dogs !!!!!!

    BUT

I am sure we will see how much Stevens really wants it.

So tell me, since I haven't seen the Roman fight yet - is this Stevens fella basically a MW version of Stevenson?

        No, not at all.

Stevenson is more of a boxer-puncher while stevens is a pressure fighter with power. Adonis fights better the more distance he has from his oponent while stevens likes to get close. He is better at mid range than all the way inside but hardly fights at long range at all because of his build.

Which is another thing, stevens is built like a tank all short and stocky while stevenson is more lean and athletic. He utilizes more movement and angles as a result and can fight in either direction, maybe stevens can too but i doubt it tbh. Only movement ive seen from him is tracking ppl down.

There are more differences but those are the main ones. Other than the fact that they are both punchers they really dont have a lot in common.

why is i you want GGG to fight 2 guys on showtime and one guy at SMW rather than a real MW?

STevens is the most realistic fight for GGG before the year ends.

It would be a damn shame if Golovkin has to fight Curtis goddamn Stevens because the best fighters in the division don't want any.

Good detailed response. Thanks. I'll be sure to observe all of that when I check out the Roman fight.

The most realistic fight is the Geale/Barker winner, who are fighting on HBO two weaks. That would be a unification bout as well so a far more important fight. Geale is currently the IBF title holder and ranked #2 at MW, Barker is currently ranked #9 (Stevens is obviously not ranked in the top ten).

If however the winner ducks a GGG fight, the sure Stevens may be the only guy available.

I think Mora might be the most makeable, even Stevens' team seems reluctant. Barker's promoter was very clear he'll steer clear. There's still hope for Geale, who like Stevens would probably take it if up to him. But he's the only champ in Gary Shaw's stable that I know of, and I'm pretty sure Shaw wants nothing to do with it.

HBO will offer Geale very good money, even Barker. Much more than Stevens who's last four opponents have 28 combined losses (10 by KO).

Stevens hasn't really proven that he is deserving of a title shot yet but Golovkin doesn't seem to have a great deal of options. Abel Sanchez is absolutely correct in his evaluation of Stevens, he is one of those guys that looks spectacular against mediocre fighters with poor defences because he can just smash them to pieces but against quality opposition I don't fancy his chances. Golovkin will knock Stevens out very quickly should they fight, a high probability of a first round KO.
