And who is this puncher? With good skill and a solid chin? Is this Stevens? Or Geale? Maybe Sturm? Or Maravilla?
Who? I can tell you that there is only one puncher in this division. With good skill and a solid chin. This is GGG himself.

Not Adonis Stevenson, Curtis Stevens. It's by no means clear he's better than Macklin. Resume says quite a bit worse

Where do you see excuses? Again, it's Team Stevens holding up the fight. It was on NBC yesterday, see that tweet from Mannix. Or here's from ESPN, sounds like Stevens' people are more impressed than you:

        http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...quick-knockout

That remains to be seen, of course. There's no shortage of observers who think Golovkin is something special and ready to assume the mantle from the aging Sergio Martinez as best middleweight in the world. Stevens, by contrast, still has to beat anyone even close to Golovkin's caliber, and few seem more aware of that than Stevens' team, which has reportedly been hemming and hawing at the mooted matchup.
But who are you kidding, you must be mighty impressed to come out all hysterical like that, probably paralyzed with fear for the guy you idolize. There was that very long excuse thread, why Floyd shouldn't have to fight GGG, did you put yours in? It's not too late, go make some excuses!

As an amateur GGG won against Andre Dirrell and Bute (this one by KO)...

Stevens would be fodder for GGG.

As long as Curtis and his team wants it then why not? Doesn't matter if he is green, blue or yellow.

I think Murray knows he's got nothing to trouble GGG he'd rather work his way into a shot at quillen or geale imo.

btw people who say GGG is just hype don't know **** about boxing. They are the sort who can do nothing but look at names on records and can't see skill in the ring. All you need to do is look at the way he moves, cuts off the ring stalks his opponent slips their shots and counters out with power and accuracy. The guy is the real deal. it must be pretty sad to be unable to see that a guy has skills and only be able to use names on records to decide if somebody has potential. I mean these people must never be able to recognize ANY up and coming fighter EVER.

No reason to take this fight if you are GGG. There's no upside to beating this guy. Stevens, however catapults up the list.

I was hoping that 3G would get a fight in before the HBO date, but it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. GGG/Stevens on HBO as a main event? meh. Put it on the Klitschko or Cotto undercard. Is it possible that HBO gives him two more dates before the year is up?
