Tyson is considered youngest heavyweight champion even though he did it as a title holder and Patterson was actually younger as a linear champ.

How convenient of you to leave the important second part of my statement out. So as you can see I said Patterson was the youngest champ from the beginning.

I respectfully think that you are going about this in a roundabout way. Tyson is considered the youngest champion by almost everybody, but he is not the youngest LINEAR champion as he wasn't linear champ before beating Spinks.

He beat ring champ Ali and heavyweight champ Norton. He held the ring and WBC which to me is as good as. Specially as no one else had a claim to be the champ.

I know the WBA kept changing hands etc, but we all know Holmes was known as the champ and that's the point. I should have said 'lineal' instead.
