Why the f is there a weight demand to begin with. He already beat the guy to a pulp. Unless of course, those couple of pounds matter
There's only one reason to demand a catchweight from cotto at this point, and that's because you(they) still don't want to face cotto at full strength.Comment

Regarding the Cotto catchweight
Pacquiao DID NOT have a title at 147 going into that fight. He only fought at 147 once after jumping TWO weight classes. He immediately jumped back down and became the lineal champ at 140 and was P4P #1 and the biggest draw in the sport. All this cannot be denied.
So there was no one left for him to fight at 140, even tho thats really his best weight even to this day. He decides to jump to 147 and Cotto has a belt even tho he got a gift-decision against Clottey. He decided to fight at 145 which gives Cotto the advantage because he only has to drop 2 pounds and Pacquiao has to gain 5. And Cotto has said numerous times that those 2 pounds didn't affect him.
The truth is Pacquiao would've beat Cotto's ass at any weight and he gave him this biggest career payday.Comment

Again with not reading. See that link I posted on the previous page. There's Cotto trying to punk Pac into offering 150. Pac did, 6 months later. He did offer 150, remember, as Cotto requested. Then Cotto rejected, citing weight and money, and went on to look like a midget and lose to Trout for peanuts, storming out of the ringComment

Pac, after Marg fight: I'm going back to 147, not going up again. Why the f is there a weight demand to begin with. He already beat the guy to a pulp. Unless of course, those couple of pounds matter

Was that hard?Comment

Why would Floyd need a tuneup for Zab lol, in his 4th division? As i said, lower standards. Baldomir, more lol.You took the bait punk.lol..
Floyd beats Mosley, the undisputed ww champion...Manny fights cotto at 145 for the who right? Just like nobody made Oscar sign the contract, nobody made Manny sneak his way into the ww division for a title at a cw right?
Just to fight his very next fight against at 147....
Floyd fought sharmba as a tuneup for Judah, because he hadn't faced a southpaw since corley...that's the only reason he fought him....he fought zab next which may have looked bad on paper, but zab lost by SD just like the ts said about clottey regarding cotto...
But then Floyd drought the undisputed ww champ in baldomir which still got bashed after he shut him out before fighting Oscar who gave himself every advantage like he tried with Manny and it backfired on him like it did with Manny...Oscar's only to blame...
Manny fought Shane at 147 was a bad loom for him....
Moving up all of these weight classes is great for him, but fighting for titles at cw takes some of the luster off of them....and not fighting the undisputed champion also does this....
Non-title cw fights are fine with me....
It's already been explained to you, Pac asked for CW vs Cotto cause he didn't know he could handle his 7th division, or 8th vs Marg. Turns out he can handle his 7th, so he never asked another welter to drop down. Turns out he can't handle his 8th, drops belt on the spot, left with paper 8th belt.
Unlike the other guy that boasts about being 2x champ in his 5th division, and requests a CW to unify lol. Let me guess, you're not ok with CWs if a single belt is at stake, but fine if unification?

I don't care about catch weights but the loss thing doesn't look good.yeah yeah they won before but those names are nott he greatest. Maybe Paulie.
My problem with Pac was when he said NO to tests. I don't care who asked and what reason all I know is NO athlete should ever say NO. The excuses where to much. That simple denial set up red flags during a time I found his career "funny" and they never went down.Comment

Wait a minute homez----canelo isn't even the wba Jr MW champion, Floyd is....he beat cotto....yes, he went to prison but he is still the champion...canelo isn't...how is this fight a true unification bout?lol...answer that one chap...Why would Floyd need a tuneup for Zab lol, in his 4th division? As i said, lower standards. Baldomir, more lol.

Yes, and I know YOUR reasons for why Manny fought at CW's for Marg and cotto were explained to me already but giving how he dodged shane prior to cotto at 143, I wonder what his reasons were...Shane's drawing power compared to cotto's?
Shane was more dangerous at that time?
He did go on to fight Shane at 147 though, didn't he? In 2011...
Fight for titles at cw is a no-no for me, and I have bashed Floyd for it already so do your homework but canelo isn't really the champion though, Floyd is....we have 2 wba champions now? One is the super-champion? Wtf is that nonsense? Floyd is the true Jr ,w champ, not canelo, and he won it at 154...
So once again, non-title fights at CW's are okay with me..Comment

Oh yes, and Floyd needing a tuneup in his 4th weight class is normal...his body peaked at 140 as it turns out...and he was fighting a southpaw...when he came into the 140 division, he was caught by corley more than he liked, even stunned by him....zab was the undisputed ww champion.....dangerous offensive arsenal zab has and was more used to the weight by that time...it was more or less Floyd fighting a southpaw at a higher weight as the need for a tuneup....that's all...Floyd knows his body...he was smart in doing this...and it worked nice for him as it turns out.Comment
