    He's confused

GGG has accomplished nothing at 160, and we're already talking about him dropping to 154 to fight Floyd. This whole thread fails. Has the man ever fought at 154?

It's crazy how these fighters get a pass today. When Floyd was on the way up, the biggest knock against him was he'd accomplished nothing and wasn't beating the best guys at the weights he was climbing.

Now, the argument is he's scared of these other guys who've accomplished nothing. Guys from different divisions at that.

"GGG beats Rosado and Macklin and suddenly he's the obvious foil for Mayweather" says the same guys who slam Berto for being Ortiz and Guerrero's stepping stone.

    Gotta love it.

Let's be honest, the only way this fight COULD ever happen if GGG could somehow make 154. GGG can not make 154, even if he says he can. He will probably move to 168 soon.

Exactly. Anyone who makes 100K tops for a fight will say they can make 154 for 3 million at least.

I'm 6'3" 210. If it was possible in any way, I'm talking 1%, I'd say I could make 154 to fight Floyd.

Will he fight GGG? HELL NO. Could he beat GGG? Yes. Could GGG beat Floyd? Yes.

I think the odds of him fighting at 168 as opposed to 154 are very likely.

It's the logical move for a guy who's a career MW and been at 160 for the last 7 years.

Of course it is. The problem here is you're bringing logic into a thread that has no expectation for it.

Guys grow and move up. Could you imagine a dominant fighter starting his career at 160 and moving DOWN cleaning out divisions, ending at 140?

let me add this to the discussion:

golovkin would knock floyd out. it's not because he's a better fighter. he's not on floyd mayweather's level. it's because he's a natural MW who hits like a heavyweight, and floyd has absolutely topped out at WW. when he fights at jr MW he is smaller in the ring than all of the top 10 WW contenders, around 152 lbs. he wins because he's a great fighter who hasn't fought big, great jr MW, not because of his size.

victor ortiz had 14 lbs on floyd mayweather in the ring for a WELTERWEIGHT fight. ortiz was 164 and mayweather weighed 150 lbs.

what's not to get? a guy topped the hell out at 150 lbs against a guy who has been a middleweight for going on ten years? you need to see that?

mayweather is about to fight a much larger man. alvarez is closer to golovkin's size than mayweather's. the rub is that he might set the PPV record against alvarez, with a F#ckload of mexicans spending $75 on ppv. golovkin doesn't bring any of that. you're jumping one weight class for a massive fight. why jump two for half of that?

Martinez is already a big ****ing stretch. Now Golovkin?

I'm not a Floyd fan, but you guys need to relax with these fantasy match ups.

can you imagine floyd trying to block golovkin's punches? he'd get his arms knocked out of their sockets. he'd have to slip everything and move all night. there's no way in hell he'd win on 36 year old legs. golovkin is steady as a rock and has a great jab. at the very least he'll score points. i don't think mayweather would finish the fight. i don't know if he could even beat golovkin in his prime.
