When did the "10 count" become the 9 count?

Everything I read (watched the scores on Twitter) indicated a close fight, maybe Scott edging. Hope I can catch it all a little later. Saw discussion on the sixth and wanted to see if there was a real fuss point.
There was.Comment

It's very obvious from that video that the ref stopped it early. It wasn't incompetence or an honest mistake, he was fully aware of what he was doing and wanted to stop it to give the home boxer the win.
But Malik should have known when fighting in another country to get up by the count of 8.Comment

As silly as it sounds (maybe not that silly?) I think the scoring/momentum of the fight has an effect on how bad a call it was.
If Scott was completely dominating the fight and it happened, then it would have seemed much worse.
Although he showed slick skills and clearly won rounds, it wasn't a fight that The Chisel wasn't in, and his predictable "come forward and swing" style was always giving him a foothold.
That it ended on a KD possibly showed where it was going...Comment

I agree on both points but I think maybe Scott was more hurt than people realised. He hardly protested, didn't seem overly angry and talked of a shot n the post-fight which upset his equilibrium (David Price style). It's very obvious from that video that the ref stopped it early. Imho there were only two clear rounds (5 & 6), the first four could've gone either way. I had it 3-2 Chisora, with one even.Last edited by Weebler I; 07-20-2013, 10:27 PM.Comment

something is going down in cleverly-kovalev, early stoppage/warren throwing oil slick at kovalev's feet/rounds ending 2 minutes early/someone barging in between rounds and whacking kovalevs knee like nancy kerrigan. something is happening.Comment
