morales aint washed up, he lost fair and square to manny, there can be no excuses, however, morales aint in the prime of his career and thats takin nothing away from mannys victory on saturday. in my opinion morales was in his prime at 122lbs and was becoming out of his prime after his very first fight with barrera in february 2000. that fight took a lot out of him that night and since he has gone up in weight he has not carried his power up too well.

people sayin morales should retire need to realize hes only 29 yrs old, i know he has a lot of mileage on him and has been involved in wars, but do you remember when pacquiao destroyed barrera?? barrera was alos 29 yrs old when he got destoyed and KO'd by manny and MOST "boxing" experts and many boxing fans was sayin he should retire, he is damaged goods, he cant be a top fighter again??? and now look at barrera, hes at the top of the 130lbs division, with 2 belts and with the possibility of a rematch with pacman, barrera came back to the top, why cant morales????

morales can come back, but what he needs now though more importantly is REST and a lot of REST for that matter. remember when barrera lost to junior jones for the 2nd time, he was semi retired, he didnt box for nearly 2 years, erik should do what marco antonio barrera done, he should take a long rest (possibly not fight again until december or even early 2007), perhaps even alter his style and box more like barrera also has done and then come back so he can prolong his career. have a couple of tune up fights too, he deserves that after all the fights hes blessed us with. he can do it.

I'm a BIG PAC FAN! and I still think he uses excuses whether he wins or loses! HAHA But I think he's just being honest. I mean...I think that's the reason why a lot of people like him right? Because he's pretty humble and willing to fight "anytime anywhere" as he always says.

I also like MORALES true warrior. He likes to fight and that's what we want to watch.

I'm a fan of both fighters but enough with the excuses on both sides. If your man loses he loses don't make excuses.

I would just like to add that although 29 is far from old, these lighter weight guys usually have a shorter life boxing than the big guys. 30 something is common in the HW division, but a 30 something featherweight is usually regarded as over the hill. Morales has had a lot of tough fights to be only 29 and he truly is only 2-3 years away from the age that most guys around that weight drop out of the running.

This is how I see it. Morales is slowing down and at his age 29 is like a 40 old. He has been through a lot of wars, but what Pac did is this fight is he went to the body more and Morales stared to gas out. Morales chin is made of iron, but Pac did something smart and went to the body and I think Morales could never take a good body shot, but again Morales is slowing down.

If morales is past his prime.....................

Then why did most morales fans predict that he would win the fight? In fact, most "experts" also predicted that morales would win. No one imagined that he would get pummeled by pacman the way he did. Pacman is becoming like a little Mike Tyson
