well, the only thing i have a problem with is looking at a fighter like Morales and saying, well since he's lost two fights in a row, he's done.. with nothing to back up their statement. IMO, Morales is the type of fighter that at this point, with a solid amount of rest could come back and successfully compete in a handful more or so fights before retiring, it's too quick an assumption to say that he's simply done. Plus, i don't think Morale's personality or ego will let him to retire at this point, he's always felt like the "i'll die in the ring" type of fighter to me.

Morales was being called brilliant during Morales/Barrera, and Morals/Pacman 1. Both Raheem and Pacman beat a prime Morales. A prime Barrera, theres no way they were anything but that.

I def see what your saying. He lost twice, once to a guy (raheem) who just plain has a bad style for Morales. Then to Pac who looked simply amazing. Not grounds to call for someone to be washed up right? Agreed.

But what you should plainly be able to see is how Morales performances compared to the Terrible of the past. He didn't look good in either fight off the jump. And you can see the difference, from the first Pac fight. He looked stronger than he did in either of his last two fights. And that's not because he won, he looked sharper and fresh.

I don't think Morales is washed up, but he's not the same right now. I don't know if he can ever get back what he was. Only time will tell.

He certainly still has his physical talents, but the hunger is gone. Pac is still very "young" compared to Morales because he still has alot to prove and is determined to do it. Morales has had the been there done that attitude for the past couple of fights.

heres why i think hes done. morales has never been in a non competitive fight until raheem. he was totally dominated, someting that has never happened to erik before. now, morales has been knocked out, another first. he was looking tired and beat after 5 rounds, another new. i feel as though the change in weight in his last two fights have screwed him over, and even though hes young, he will never be the championship fighter that he has been.
and i definitly saw signs of morales slowing down in the first fight against pac when he didnt look good. plus, that fight was a year ago, and alot can happen in a year

Because Morales decided to fight outside his box. Both Morales/Barrera missed fights with fighters like Seda, Casamayor, Corrales, Castillo, and Mayweather. Pacman wasnt very known until Barrera fought him. Raheem wasnt very known until Morales fought him. Only reason why Barrera hasnt lost yet, is cause he fighting Pedens, and old friends like Chavez who he can beat.

So who are you going for when Pac and Barrera rematches?

all due respect, you have valid points and everything.. i guess i just want to wait and see how he reacts after taking time off to recoup. *also note i never actually got a chance to see the Morales fight with Raheem completely so maybe i'd feel different had i seen it in it's entirety

to me, it's just another one of those 'time will tell' things.

If Morales is washed up it was after Saturday night. No one was saying he was washed up during the 1st half of the fight. Morales was getting hit alot more from the beginning in this fight than the 1st fight because of the adjustments Pac made. He wasn't fighting predictable like he has in the past. He went to the body ALOT more which has more to do with Morales gassing than anything else. Pac used the right hand beautifully to set up the straight left & the left to the body which he was able to land alot. Morales fans need to give credit to Pac for making Morales turn old overnight & not make excuses.

I don't know if Morales was shot or not. The one thing I know is that if Morales was shot, then he is definitely the hardest chinned shot fighter I have ever seen. Anyone in the division with a lesser beard than Morales, and that means everyone, would have gotten KTFO alot earlier. I believe Morales in condition he faced Pac with in the rematch would have withstood and messed up anyone else. That is one hell of a shot fighter.
