I didn't see a lot of offensive variety against Guerrero, did you??
The difference is Rigo is Cuban. It has nothing to do with his style.

I know what the differences are. I just dont want to hear Rigondeaux has a boring style when Floyd often fights similar; it's not just about the style.

I think Arum can do a better job selling Rigo. Label him the greatest counter puncher of all time, promote his catlike reflexes, do something to make Rigo appear amazing and one of a kind that sparks more interest.

I saw more variety than Rigondeaux showed against Donaire. Floyd can do things that make noobs go "wow" like dropping his hands, throwing a quick right hand lead and leaning back or ducking under before his opponent has a chance to react. Rigondeaux is much more repetitious and conservative in terms of stance, footwork and angles.

How about when Lampley ****s on him like he did on fight game, you let out a press release killing Lampley and HBO for not wanting him after YEARS of pushing floyd and the love they showed Ward.

Where's the classic over exaggerated Bob out rage that we saw after the bradley manny fight?

but it stands to reason that they back floyd and ward heavily so why not rigo? other than the language barrier I don't get it myself.

as I said in the other thread it defies logic that the #1 boxing network wouldn't want to air one of the 5 best pure boxers coming off his biggest win.
Other than the language barrier there's the division they fight in. HBO hardly ever used to show sub feather until they started featuring Donaire. Plus good comp is lacking right now at 122, outside of GBP's Santa Cruz, which is not happening on HBO.

I'm just giving some reasons, I don't think these justify it. His last couple of performances weren't even boring.

I don't know man, Floyd fought Guerrero basically the same way for twelve rounds, he hardly threw more than 1 or 2 shots at a time. Rigondeaux threw some good combos including shots to the body.

FYI, I am a fan of the sweet science by the way, watching guys like Floyd, Rigondeaux, Hopkins, Ward etc is usually very entertaining to me. Of course I enjoy killers too (see sig).

IMO HBO has decided to focus on power punchers and knockouts. They will green light rematches like rios v alvarado or nonito v vic even if those fights dont warrant a rematch because they make for good TV. I get that.

HBO has invested heavily in Nonito and my boy Mikey Garcia since they stopped showing GBP fighters. Rigo is a direct threat to those investments with his boxing ability. Rigo isn't ****** enough to fight aother guy's fight either.

The language barrier does limit his ability to promote the fight-but if you stage the fights in spanish speaking areas that mitigates it. Besides, when has not speaking english factored into HBO putting you on the air?

Adonis stevenson fought for 32 seconds on HBO showing tremndous power with one shot. Rigo fought for 12 rounds against a top caliber fighter showing tremendous skill.

HBO is doing what it can to show another stevenson fight but not another rigo fight.

                  DOes this make any sense?

Rigondeux is more "exciting" than Floyd. Why Floyd sells? I'm still trying to figure it out.

I guess HBO just doesnt see a good way to sell him

This is probably the thing they were trying to avoid by getting rid of Haymon
