That's just an embarrassing article. His point may be fair but it's impossible to take it seriously when it's wrapped in a creepy obsession with Floyd.

So pointing out valid views is now being "obsessed with someone"? Great. I bet if he wrote the opposite you would agree and then go further with the childish name dropping. Agree with him or not, the fact is that Lyle is competent at well-argumented discussions rather than these users who throw around words like "*****", "Gayweather", "Cherrypicker" etc. and then leave the discussion. If you want to criticize his article then do it like a reasoned adult instead of a 5 year old kid.

Lyle writes like an above average message board Flo mo, no surprise that's what you get back. His stuff is heavy spin doctoring, a lot of disingenuous arguments. More respectable writers get treated with the respect they deserve here. You ever see this kind of feedback for Cliff or Jake or any of the other guys?

This is a great fact-based article. What that means is that it will draw 500 posts from emotionally-******ed haters complaining about the writer as well as everything he said in the article without any solid facts to back up their hate-filled rants.

The writer is right about Golovkin. He has not beaten anyone of note and should not be regarded among the elite fighters in the middleweight division, let alone a worthy challenger to Floyd Mayweather.

He is also right about what he said about Floyd. The haters on this site pretend that Floyd started his career at 147 and has cherry-picked all of his opponents. The truth is Floyd started at 130 and, like most great fighters, worked his butt off to get to the top. When he was trying to make a name for himself, Floyd called out every decent fighter at every weight class from 130 to 147 and beat all those who took his challenge. He did beat legitimate champions at 130, 135, 140, 147 and 154 and earned his place at the top. Along the way, several top fighters, including Mosley at 135 and 147 and Hatton, Cotto and Kostya Tyszu at 140 turned down his challenges because, at the time, there was no big payoff in fighting Mayweather.

I am sure there will be plenty of idiots on this site who criticize the list of people that the writer indicated Floyd has beaten. However, the TRUTH is that Golovkin has not fought, let alone beaten anyone who was anywhere near the quality of the fighters on Floyd's list. In fact, neither has Alvarez. Alvarez has one win against a quality opponent in 43 fights -- Austin Trout. Trout, on the other hand, has one quality win (Cotto) in his 27 fights prior to meeting Alvarez. That means that Golovkin and Alvarez has been given the title of great fighters and did not earn the titles.

If anyone doubts this, I challenge any of the haters on this board to name one fighter that either Golovkin or Alvarez has beaten who can come compare in any way to the list of fighters that this writer mentioned in this article.

You can hate all you want, but the facts speak for themselves. The petty, childish rants, the Red Ks and the idiotic gayweather and ***** comments that will result from this post or any post that agrees with this article won't change the facts.

Lyle, Sergio is to beaten up for Floyd. Maravilla is pretty much shot for his age and he had a lot of tough battles, but it will be a good fight to watch. 3G will pick Martinez apart at this point of his career and TKO Floyd if that fight ever happens. Andre Dirrell was one of the most promising boxer in the amateurs until he lost to Golovkin..to beat a guy like Dirrell, you are special!

I take it this article is about how "fans" jump on the "flavor of the month" as being the one to beat Floyd.

Right now its GGG, a MW who has never fought below 160, but not to long ago it was Trout, before his loss to Canelo, and before that it was Martinez but the lineal champ and P4P fighter is now a cherrypick. HAHA!
