You meant to say learn from your mistakes...

You make mistakes you better take them personal and use them as fuel to strive forward with stronger resolve. Only someone that is a quitter will not take a loss as personal and accept it as nature without improving on their game.

I really like him, for 4 rounds he looked like a star. That Stamina needs to improve though or he wont make it at the top level. Tonight's very hard loss will either make him as a fighter or break him mentally. I hope it makes him as he is a very exciting fighter.

I didn't say "accept it"!! What are you a fiction novelists!!!
Theres no mistake about his defeat!
You see only fans talk and feel like you do! If every defeat was rechallenged everyone would waste years fighting each other! This is boxing not a soccer game with the buddies from the next town!!! Correct your short comings then go back if its prudent financially and see if your experiences can guide you to improve! !

Fans are so "touchy" and get so defensive too! hahahaha!!! Ray

And i remember posting in one of your threads about Rakhim after he fought some strong but crude black guy (sorry i dont remember his name) but even then i said he needs to shore up his defense against the left hook, and he did not do it and that was the punch that did him in.

He needs a new trainer, and hopefully there is no permanent psychological damage.

But it was a good fight

Hes with Artur Grigorian who is an offensive minded coach, there was talks of Rakhim going with a Cuban coach (wasn't named) that trained Lara & Gamboa. He does have some defensive flaws and he'd get away with them against a lesser fighter.

I think if there is one thing to learn here its more you can't blast everybody out. For me his defense is very good, his head movements very good and hes extremely effective at getting in and getting his shots off its what he does after.

I know you're trolling & want a raise but it couldn't be helped though I feel more fighters should take a knee to gather themselves when buzzed, in fact many old school trainers teach this.

A great example would be Arreola vs Walker. Chris purposely took a knee & count to to regain his senses and came back and got the knockout win. Now ask yourself what happens if he don't take a knee? Walker likely knocks his ass out.

I can think of several recent fights where fighters should of probably taken a knee but didn't and lost because of it because they let their pride get the better of them DeMarco vs Molina being one.

There is nothing wrong with taking a knee if necessary like it Arreola's case I call that a smart tactic, a veteran move. He showed experience to me. Many young fighters would fire straight back not having their senses and get plastered for it.

Exactly right, after he throes a combo he does not pivot off the front foot or slip and try to get behind his man after(southpaw vs orthodox) he just tends to stay there and admire his work or he covers up looking to throw another combo.

And a better punch variety will do him a world of good.

Rakhim was gassing as early as the 4th,clearly threw too many per round.he'll learn massively from this.

Also Wlod punched with hook on the clinch, thats a Ward tactic, and final knock down was an illegal punch behind the ear.no drama its a learning curve.he will come back and I feel clear up,move up to heavy and knock out bums like Fury and Wilder, before facing Wladimir.stylistically hes a nightmare for Wladimr.

Chakhkiev time will come,he was born to rule.

Iwatched about 3 rounds leading up to the tko! He has very short arms and leads with wide punches that puts him at a disadvantage right away! He needs to throw straight shots than come with short wider ones! He doesn't sit down on his punches when the time is right, thats his inexperience! He makes defensive head bobbing out of habit not effectiveness, he never counters off it either! His back foot is pointed to far out, he couldn't pivot to add power if he wanted to! Thats something he was never taught, he didn't have a pro trainer when he was learning because thats a must easrly lesson to learn! He looks like an amatuer boxer trying figure out how to fight like a pro. He doesn't peire' he never feints not sure if he doubled jabbed when the opponent was giving ground if not he needs to to cut the distance and still be balanced to punch!
(I could go on on on............he's game but was in with a crafty guy who waited to be able to put a right hand on him and follow with the left hook!
                    (he's open for left hooks)

DanC your right in the fact he wasn't satisfied winning on points he kept pressing to the point where he got drained and the veteran saw it was time to open up! Fight over!
I would NOT go back to that guy right away!! Three fights and go back in 16 months. He's a raw kid, if he's older than 27 I'd tell him to find another job!!!

I think I would put it down to mainly fatigue. He looks so good early, he still looks dangerous throughout but he visibly slows and things start to fall apart for me. He becomes more static, hands start to drop, starts pushing his jab.
                      Everything is pushed/forced.

I 110% feel tonight will serve as a big wake up call and he'll come back from this. The thing that gets me is he gave Wlod so much respect during the pre fight and said he wouldn't go looking for the knockout and for me he sensed he had his man hurt and really went for it. I think he cut him with the first combination he threw and hurt Wlod and felt he could make it an early night and paid the price though that isn't to say he hasn't defensive flaws that need ironing out.
