Feel you're being a bit harsh on Rakhim though, he gunned for Wlod after only 16 pro fights and was chasing all the champions. He has never striked me as a guy to go the easy route if anything the hardest route and I think he may of found that out tonight.

I promise you he will be world champion.
I already said I'm being harsh in an above post. I never felt he would win against Wlod though. That Andres Taylor wobble convinced me from the moment this match was announced that Rakhim wouldn't see the final bell.

I am a fan but I am unashamed to admit I still feel he will struggle.

Chakhkiev power and steel like determination, will see him champion in less than two years.he needs to refine his skills,be a little cooler and less active within the rounds.there is no probing with him only unadulterated raw power.he is fearless.

No one will fight him after this performance.its going to be difficult finding him durable opponent to gain him rounds,to teach him how to be more durable.that they will have to work on in sparring with Boytsov maybe.then work on defence as well, his defence is awful.four times same punch !

I downloaded this fight at work yesterday and watched the first round. And wow, I thought I was watching a European southpaw carbon copy of a young ferocious Mike Tyson! My plan was to go home watch the rest of the fight and then heap some praise on Dan for hyping this guy for the last 2 years.

However things didn't turn out as we, err, some of us expected. Here are my thoughts about the fight:

Chakhkiev looked very sharp in the early rounds - very aggressive, threw most of his punches with bad intensions, good body work and looked like he was his way to a stoppage. Everything was going great because, frankly, his opponent wasn't doing jack **** except covering up in a defensive shell.

Chakhkiev got too reckless with his offensive and let Wlod back in the fight. His clinches were really lazy and he paid the price as he caught with that short left hook.

After that knockdown the fight seemed to unravel for him.

Also, I thought the ref stopped the fight prematurely. Why didn't he administer the count after the second knockdown?
