The theory should get a good test when the fight happens. Pacquiao comes to fight. He is harder to hit than Rios, and faster, but he will go toe to toe with Rios because that is the way he loves to fight. He loves a war and so does Rios. That means Rios, who is a good puncher, will land his share of bombs on Pacquiao's chin. The old Pacquiao took Cotto's hard punches with no problem and Cotto hits as hard or harder than Rios. If Rios wins by KO or even loses but hurts Pacquiao often or knocks him down then it would sure look like Pacquiao's ability to take a punch is not as good as it once was. If Rios is unable to hurt Pacquiao it would blow that cracked chin theory all to hell.

yup and people are in denial, its why Bernard Hopkins said Pacquiao is Brave as hell for taking on a hungry guy like Brandon Rios who just took his first loss but wanted to get back in the ring, Rios is going to test Pacmans chin like a mad man the scariest guys are those who are coming off a loss and are hungry to prove themselves again.

This is the sad truth, Rios will be fresh at 147 and have a significant size advantage without being drained, Pacman got hit a lot against slow Margarito, and people don't realize Rios is a bit faster and more aggressive than Margarito.

rios and robert garcia both said this is the best time to catch Pacquiao so they know it too.

Regardless how Manny feels now once the bell rings its on and theres NO thought of the past because his full concentration will be on Rios!
If its not he will get KO'd hahahaha!!!! You can't make comparisons from fighter to fighter their all different!!
The brain shuts you down and depending on how much oxygen is starved will determine how long your brain keeps you asleep! Some old timers used to think that a KO was safer than a tko semi-unconscience!! I don't know about that I have worked corners with and against fighters who suffered knock outs and some are instantaniously more serious than others! Its a fibe thats transmitted when you've experienced a situation enough times!!
I think Manny will be fine, if he felt other wise he'd back it down and call it a career! He has other things to do, thankfully! Ray.
Ray this is why a lot of people worry about Manny's health in this fight. Naazim Richardson even said you can't change a fighters temperament a guy like Manny is a fierce warrior, he will go into the ring with the same aggressive mentality but not the same physicality he once had that would help him go through fire its very dangerous when a guy still think in his mind he has it but his chin is no longer the same or his physical tools are slowed down.

This could be a scary fight, a hungry ready to prove himself after a loss and not drained Rios is not the type of opponent you want to get after coming off a KO, a Paulie Malignaggi opponent is the type you need someone with little power who can help you get your confidence back, not an aggressive hungry pressure fighter with power.

yup, Fedor, Wandy, and Chuck Liddell, and Nate Diaz recently.

The more punishment you take eventually you will crack like an egg.

Pacquiao reminds me of these guys, especially Wandy and Chuck because they are similar to Pacman being aggressors and both got KO'd out cold multiple times once they were both KO cold they never could take a punch again.

Chuck was knocked out cold so many times it was scary, Wandy too. And these guys were beasts who would walk through fire similar to Manny Pacquiao. Its sad man but thats how it is when you take chances and get hit often your brain can only handle so much trauma.

It's like you totally brushed over the examples people gave of fighters that have came back from being KO'd cold. You are in denial, because you literally won't sway your opinion on the subject even slightly... most are saying lets wait and see, you are acting like you can predict the future and have evidence to back up what you're saying besides anecdotal... this whole denial thing applies to you more than anyone else.

He's brave as hell for taking the fight because he 'may' be weaker from it, but as I've said you have no scientific evidence whatsoever to back up the claim, and the evidence of previous fighters being KO'd and having there chin cracked gets thrown in the gutter when people give examples other fighters being out cold and coming back fine or better than before.

Why can't you just say lets wait and see... what is the point of this thread? You expect people to pat you on the back if his chin is weaker? Or you want people to say they were ****** for attempting to follow your logic? Whats the motive, really? The fight has been taken already, he's not going to cancel it because some people are worried about his health or chin. So again, I ask, what's the point? You aren't willing to discuss your opinion because it's not open to change, so this threads worthless.

He was KO but not out cold, he was still awake and he was YOUNGER, you can recover from trauma much better when you are younger. Pacman getting dropped by the same right hand that Marquez landed flush multiple times on him should have been enough to tell us his chin is done. That first knockdown after being hit flush many times and never falling down against Marquez is proof that his chin is no longer the same, the KO at the end is just the final chip to crack the granite open.

the long rest should do him wonders, i would keep his sparring to a minimum and i think he'll be fine in the Rios fight as long as he doesn't let Rios set his feet and stand in front of him too often, and after that if Marquez wins we get another competitive fight as long as it lasts and then he should call it a career if the May fights off the table

the KO was similar although the JMM was more devastating

i guess we'll just have to wait and see wont we?

it's not like PAC is hard to hit...we'll find out when he steps in there against Rios

If pacqauio gets put to sleep or stopped it will be because Rios is a very hard puncher.
Mayweather is smart, he knew that if he were to walk down JMM he would get countered all day, instead he forced JMM to come to him, JMM cannot fight going forward if he is forced to pressure you he will get caught its how Floyd dropped him, because Marquez has ****ty defense, his defense is mainly side stepping and back stepping counters, he gets a lot in all his fights even against scrubs. he is mainly a counter fighter not a defensive slickster.

Pacquiao had the right game plan early, don't throw combos at Marquez just pepper him with one two punches and use a lot of movement, JMM would not like that because it would force JMM to try to throw his three punch counters when Pacman finished throwing one shot and it would leave JMM open for Pacman to see him finish and reset and attack.

Pacmans nature is the opposite of many fighters, if you hurt him or drop him he gets furious and instead of fighting scared he taps his gloves and gets super aggressive when he is hurt. Tyson said it best everyone has a plan until they get hit, once Pacman was dropped his initial plan of using the De La hoya lead left hand and movement strategy that was working went out the window and he turned into the tasmanian devil again.
