I said the same thing before I def believe it if you look at Roy Jones and Hatton and others that got Ko'd like that. Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone like someone mentioned Duran but theres always exceptions to the rule and a lot of it is mental I believe

I think it's more mental than anything else.

This thread is so silly its ridiculous! Fans guesstimating about being KO'd when they've never experienced a jab in the face!!!
Regardless how Manny feels now once the bell rings its on and theres NO thought of the past because his full concentration will be on Rios!
If its not he will get KO'd hahahaha!!!! You can't make comparisons from fighter to fighter their all different!!
The brain shuts you down and depending on how much oxygen is starved will determine how long your brain keeps you asleep! Some old timers used to think that a KO was safer than a tko semi-unconscience!! I don't know about that I have worked corners with and against fighters who suffered knock outs and some are instantaniously more serious than others! Its a fibe thats transmitted when you've experienced a situation enough times!!
I think Manny will be fine, if he felt other wise he'd back it down and call it a career! He has other things to do, thankfully! Ray.

I have experienced a jab to the face and much worse... Have been knocked down once early in a fight when i got alittle to overconfident and walked into one... I was fine and finished the fight...... Never been ko'd... So i cant say how that feels....
I can only imagine being put to sleep by a guy like marquez has to have some lingering mental and physical effects... Im no doctor but have seen it alot in the pros,,, Roy jones, Hatton, Vargas,, Mayorga had an iron chin till Trinidad beatdown and then oscar, shane, cotto all stopped him....

No. This is his first head trauma KO, the other one was by a body shot.

Happens in mma as well.. Fedor and Wnaderlie silva are both examples of guys with great chins but then time just broke them down and both have had numerous brutal ko losses since then....

Yea, but Duran did not look the same after that KO. He looked slower, less active and more hesitant, even if he still had success. The Duran that beat Ray Leonard was a different animal.

What I've noticed is, being knocked out cold, and being knocked out later in the your career is more likely to permanently hurt you. The younger you are, the better your body can completely heal, you've also taken less damage, so there's that.

The Pac ko is definitely going to take something out of him, but how much is the question. It might not be especially significant. And Pac is so good, he might still beat everyone but floyd, but that doesn't matter since that fight will never happen.

im talkin about Torrecampo, not Sasakul...he was knocked out and when they dragged him up on his feet, his ass was still cross eyed

i think his chin will be fine...its his desire and lack of killer instinct that worries me

This is a discussion taking on several different forms. When it's neurological, purely neurological damage, it ain't psychological. It depends whether or not that damage, actual neurological physical damage, has been done. I. E. Fernando Vargas.

Sounds to me like most people intuitively feel Manny is ok physically based on their answers. How he responds mentally seems to be their concern. If I'm Manny I can get past it knowing I tripped over my opponents foot at the moment he sparked me. He'll be fine IMO.

Pacquaio a beast and got caught by one of the best, theirs a reason Mayweather being the Superior fighter to Marquez still didn't try to go for the kill on Marquez for fear of getting caught himself.

If pacqauio gets put to sleep or stopped it will be because Rios is a very hard puncher.
