You might've, but no one else gave him a chance. Pacquiao was the fight people wanted to see, not Victor Ortiz.
Yea but the pac fight wasnt happening. Outside of that fight Ortiz was a phenomenal opponent choice, based off of Floyd getting caught by Shane. And Ortiz didnt go life and death with Berto LOL. He beat the crap out of Berto, and when he got dropped, he dropped Berto in return.

Yea I know Floyd ducked Pacman This is fact. But he didnt cherrypick bum opponents. Ortiz was actually the second big, legit-sized ww that Floyd had faced, and he was coming off another layoff. I was very excited about that fight!!

Was JMM overweight when he just knocked Knocked Pac TFO at the same weight? Was Hatton overweight after he just shutout Tszyu, had came into the ring bigger than Floyd in every single fight, and was just fighting in his 2nd division while you are crying now for Floyd to fight in his 5th division at a 20 pound disadvantage?

Same stuff every time. Never gets old. I bet Floyd eats at you guys soul. You hate it everytime he wins and you will be upset again on Sept 15th. You will be crying about the CW and making up a new guy to say that he ducked

Pretty much, but this is a garbage thread by a garbage poster.....

guerrero was a good opponent in my opinion, floyd had to re-invent himself for that or he would have gotten done in if he fought like he did vs mosley and cotto, also didn't help that guerrero's team came in with an awful gameplan, but still, i think floyd deserves his dues, that was a good fight vs a good fighter, i can't hate on him, actually, i've regained some of that old respect for him

          Hindsight is 20-20.

Th last "threat" (he vast majority thinking he was ducking or would never fight) was Mosley by if course after the fight its considered not a threat.

What are the chancs the same happens with Canelo? High. Very high.

It's funny, people say Mayweather hasn't fought anyone but can anyone name someone who's beaten more Top 5 ranked opponents that he has?

          It's very seldom, if any.

In regards to who beat more "past, present or future champions" I believe Mayweather tied Chavez record in his last fight.

Don't quote me on that, but that's what a Latino reporter said to Mayweather "if he wins his next fight (against Guererro)"

In regards to who has beaten more Top 5 ranked opposition in the division being fought in, I don't think anyone has who's active. The only person who might have is Pacquaio but even then I still think Mayweather has beaten a few more, off the top of my head.

If Floyd beats Canelo the haters will say that Alvarez was too green, in-experienced, wasn't good in the first place, was cherry picked, was drained, etc.

You can make the argument that TR at times got in the way of some fights that could had been made with Floyd

Retrospectively you can say that most of his opponents were not a threat because he whipped them so easily. Without knowledge of how the fight went down, Hatton, De La Hoya, Baldomir, Mosley, Gatti etc. were all considered threats.

Now Mosley was shot before the fight.

When he got in the ring after Floyd/Marquez it was "Floyd will never fight Mosley because he's the real #1 WW and a legit threat". 4 months later when the fight was signed : "Only reason why Floyd is fighting him is because he knows he's shot". I've never seen fans do a 180 so quickly, it was hilarious.

Going into the fight Moseley was considered an threat. That right he landed would have KOd most fighters but Floyd took it well,if he landed 2 of those in a row things would have been interesting.
