this thread is clearly about standards. Floyd is held to the highest standard possible. Excellent. That's how it should be. But what standards do people hold other greats of this era to. Was hatton a threat to floyd. Of course he was. Were victor ortiz and guerrero threats? Yes, especially at floyd's age. Lets ask another question. Was bradley a threat to pacman? Absolutely. But it's easy to discredit that fight if held under the same standard as this thread (weebler) suggests. Bradley did not have a title at 147 prior to the fight with pacman and only had one fight at the weight (immediately moved back down to 140 after his first ww fight). He also hasn't looked good at 147 after the fight with pac (using the hindsight logic of some of the posters on here) and he has no power at 140 or 147. Both ortiz and hatton were at least champions at ww. Guerrero was the best ww opponent available and floyd's mandatory. Pac man just lost to jmm and jmm didn't want the fight plus he was contemplating retirement at the time. Bradley wasn't a feasible option. People did say floyd should fight a legit threat at jmw instead of at ww so he signs to fight canelo in his next fight. This fight should be at 154 but it is still a legit fight. Canelo is a real threat. People talk about best weights. Does floyd get credit for winning fights when he's not at his best weight?

I try to stay out of threads like this but i felt a post was necessary today. This thread topic should really be when has floyd fought someone i wanted. That's what this really boils down to. You guys are upset because floyd retired after the hatton fight and that the pac vs. Floyd fight didn't happen when it mattered most. We all know that fight should've happened. We all blame different people for it not happening. None of us knows the truth. As a fan of both mayweather and pacman, i have respect for what they've given to the sport.

Mayweather scared of Bradley.....seriously??? Bradley could have signed with Top Rank to get Manny or Golden Boy to get Floyd. It's well known Top Rank and Golden Boy ain't doing business.

And yeah the Marquez fight was bull......but looking back now, it looks pretty good.

And no I'm talking everyone. If anyone else in the sport fought Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto at 154, and Guerrero when he did, it's considered a legit and good fight. But if Floyd fights them, it's terrible.

As soon as Mayweather wins they will say Canelo was Cherry picked too. Mosley beat Margarito and it took him over a year to find a fight even though he was the champion. Before every fight everybody says how Mayweather will lose. Once he wins then he cherry picked them.
