One thing that surprises me is how little chance people are giving Saul. Now, I have Mayweather 70% favourite to win, cos quite simply - he's Floyd Mayweather and he's one of the most unbeatable fighters ever.

But I really think Canelo is going to make it difficult for him. I think he's very, very underrated. He's improving from fight to fight, and he has a varied, interesting attacking arsenal that Floyd hasn't encountered in a while.

How do you see it playing out?
I think at 36 and a weight he's always looked less impressive in against a guy with the size, youth and ability of Canelo is going to be very tough fight.

That said, I think Mayweather wins by decision. I think his output and stamina could be his downfall and the pace he likes to fight at won't work too well against Mayweather.

Going to be a tough fight though.

Yeah, that is pretty much how I see it. The stamina is the biggie. I think it's a little late to get a top class nutrionist now, they should have integrated one before.

Saying that, I rate Canelo above the Cotto who fought Floyd. Now, he won't exert the same kind of educated pressure (and Miguel has always been terrific against boxers) but I think Floyd is going to have to take some damage in this fight. I think he's going to be hit, by someone out-weighing him by about 15 pounds, who doesn't have a one-dimensional offensive attack.

Still, whatever chance I give Saul, I weight it up against this - how shocked would I be if he beats Mayweather? Answer - very.

The thing is though - this is a killer fight. Straight up.

        • 2 lbs isn't going to be the difference in this fight.

alvarez isn't going to throw enough punches. he's going to throw less if he's drained, but he wouldn't throw enough if he were @ 154.

floyd UD. i will be there. i cannot f#cking wait.

I think the focus on camp is going to be staying off the ropes as muh as possible and keeping it on the outside. Especially with his Dad in the corner. Everytime Canelo get's close he's going to hold him. It would be in Canelo's interest to work on muscling him and not letting him hold. Much like Cotto did.

I think the difference between Cotto and Canelo is the jab, I don't think Canelo's jab will trouble Mayweather like Cotto's did. Every success he had came off the jab.

              • Forget Canelo, I still can't believe people think Oscar v Floyd was a close fight.

All I saw was Oscar hitting air for 12 rounds. Sure he pinned him on the ropes, sure the crowd went nuts, but it all looked ineffective to me.

                • I feel so special right now.

On topic, though : This is a fantastic fight. Floyd's facing a young, undefeated champion in his prime. All this nonsense about Canelo having to shed 2lbs is just a smoke screen being thrown up by bitter Pacquiao fans in order to discredit the fight because they're still eggy about the fact that Manny's not in the Mayweather lottery anymore.

I'll never understand most supposed "fans" of this sport and the lengths they go to in order to discredit and disparage fantastic fights and fighters simply because they dislike them. If these selfish twits ran the sport it'd be in even worse shape than it is today, and that's truly a terrifying thought.

Cotto's jab in the Mayweather fight was absolutely on point. Truly a thing to marvel in this sport, if ever there was one. One of the most compelling fights I've ever seen that I scored in a lopsided manner.

Dude please go away! I'm sure you're in some third world country (Phillipines) using a public computer, your times up buddy, you are still talking about Pac when he is so irrelevant right now, 2 losses in a row and was KTFO, and he's fighting a guy who is a 140lber who is also coming off a loss....they should name the fight "Someone has to win sooner or later"
