I think the difference between Cotto and Canelo is the jab, I don't think Canelo's jab will trouble Mayweather like Cotto's did. Every success he had came off the jab.

very good points about the jab. canelo lacks the consistency / tempo that comes with the jab when it's a real institution. cotto has a great jab. it's always been his best shot, imo.

we've also only seen alvarez in with one prime opponent of his size, and he was a southpaw. i don't know what alvarez output with his jab looks like against an orthodox boxer who is even in mayweather's stratosphere. he's only faced smaller, less talented, and shot guys, other than trout, who was a southpaw.

alvarez hardly throws against mortals. i can't see him really letting his hands go against lord mayweather, a guy who makes every opponent throw less.

there will be some exciting rounds early on. the crowd will cheer every time canelo is close enough to land and is actually throwing. eventually floyd is going to lull him to sleep in the middle of the ring and win a decision.

First of all, Mayweather takes all his fights seriously. He trained just as hard for Guerrero as he did for all his other fights. The weight is just negotiating. Neither fighter wanted to budge so they compromised. I've read on here about De la Hoya wouldn't have taken the fight with Pacquiao if he didn't agree with the weight. Same goes for Alvarez. He wouldn't have taken the fight if he didn't agree with the weight. If the weight is ok with Alvarez and his handlers it should be ok with his fans. If Floyd asking for a negotiated weight means he's insecure does Alvarez using a nutritionist for the first time means he's insecure? Oscar keeps embarrassing himself whenever he speaks about Mayweather. As if the panty pics weren't embarrassing enough.

It's always Floyd will lose because of this or that with DLH. The fact of the matter is Floyd has sparred with MW's for the last 3 fights, so Floyd is used to guys heavier guys 165+ now. Even Guerrero was likely 160+ on fight night so outside of getting lucky with a punch I just don't see anything Canelo brings to the table that Floyd hasn't seen before, Canelo doesn't have a real jab and If he is going to try and slim down for speed like DLH did against Manny then good luck with that. It's too late for nutritionists Canelo's true healthy weight is around 180 pounds now.. I see Floyd either putting on a pot shot clinic UD or KO'ing Canelo if he tires out like he usually does..

The fight takes place at a catch-weight of 152-pounds. Mayweather had previously fought at the full junior middleweight limit of 154 on two occasions, against De La Hoya in 2007 and last year against Miguel Cotto. Both fights were tough outings for the pound-for-pound king, with Mayweather winning both by way of twelve round decision.

Top 2 Excuses once Floyd wins again:

            1) CATCH-WEIGHT SCREWED CANELO! BETTER PUT AN ASTERISK
            2) Canelo was NOT in his prime he was too young at 22 years old

Gbp needs to find a new angle to promote mayweather fights... Same thing different day oscar always chooses the opponent and then Schafer supports mayweather. Oscar always mentions the jab and tries to convince everyone that mayweather could lose... Yawn

                Yet, nobody jabs lol.

Oscar has by far been the closest to beating him, in regards to the actual scorecards.

I don't know why but the more trash DLH talks about Floyd, makes me want to buy this PPV, mission accomplished Oscar.

I thought Canelo asked for the catchweight and Floyd accepted?
